After winning his third consecutive GOP primary contest Tuesday in Nevada, Donald Trump has landed his first congressional endorsements, the latest sign members of the Republican political establishment are coming to terms with the New York businessman securing the GOP presidential nomination.

Rep. Chris Collins, R-New York, a wealthy former businessman from upstate New York, said in a statement this morning that Trump "understands the importance of American exceptionalism, and has the unique qualifications to make America great again."

Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-California, told Politico this morning that he will support Trump's bid for the GOP nomination for president, a message aimed at GOP primary voters and his own colleagues in Congress who have been reluctant to acknowledge Trump's rise.

"We don't need a policy wonk as president," said Hunter, who previously supported Mike Huckabee's presidential bid. "We need a leader as president."(continued)

Let me assure you that the coat tails on this American hero are miles long. I predict huge coat tails and if you are a republicrat and withhold your endorsement , you are FINISHED politically.

If Grahamnesty is against him, there is reason to vote for Trump right there!

Shouldn't he also be an adult, Mr. Hunter?

Jeff Sessions’ intro/appearance at a Trump event in Alabama appeared to me to be a tacit endorsement.
BTW, Given the importance and prominence of the immigration debate now, and Cruz’s partnering with Session’s to stop the gang of 8, I wonder why Sessions has yet to play a prominent role in Cruz’s campaign. Where are Cruz’s endorsements?

The cracks in the dam are just starting to show. After Super Tuesday if Trumps momentum continues, this talk of by the GOPe about having to stop him will come to an abrupt end. Shortly after that they will all be trying to pretend that they all waned him from the beginning.

Trump is a hero, how so? Heroes are those who serve in our military, not a guy who goes around bullying people who don’t agree with him.

Chris Collins just scored huge points with the populist insurgency sweeping this country .
Paul Ryan should be updating his resume .

Collins is my rep, surprised that he has gone out on a limb since he has mostly been unimpressive as a result of being mostly a RINO in one of the more conservative districts in NY. His poll numbers must no look good.

Sigh - perhaps you should also look up the term "crybaby"....

The “courageous” Republicans are finally sticking their toes in the water. Better late than never. The Collins endorsement coupled with Carl Paladino’s support can help swing upstate New York for Trump so this is a good development.

That is an interesting definition of “hero”. First responders on 911? Ronald Reagan end of cold war? NOT HEROES!!

Collins and Hunter jumping on the Trump bandwagon doesn’t make him a conservative. Trump remains a self absorbed NYC liberal.

Trump’s mad as hell, anti-conservative, populist candidacy may appeal to some folks but it puts him way outside the confines of true conservatism and Reaganism.

Bullhockey! President Trump's record on all the major issues--immigration, taxes, the Second Amendment, energy, defense, Israel, China, Iran, Russia and so on have been solidly conservative--in many cases, even exceeding Reagan's record.

Nice try!
