How come Trump never mentions Germany when talking about unfair trade and trade imbalances ??? Because his ancestors are from there ?

Always Mexico , Japan , China and tonight Vietnam ! German’s surplus is almost as large as Japan’s !

Bringing another loud mouth obnoxious Yankee to Texas is supposed to help his cause? Now that’s funny.

Would you be bothered about Trump talking about trade deficits if he was only talking about Germany? My guess is no. But in your eyes China, Japan, Mexico, and Vietnam are off limits because of your own ancestry. Am I right?

He mentions that we are obliged to defend Germany, an economic behemoth. Has said that several times.

“How come Trump never mentions Germany when talking about unfair trade and trade imbalances ??? “

A good question. I think that part of the answer is that US companies can do business there. Ford, GM and GE all have subsidiaries or branches. Maybe it is just that the Germans like Mercedes, Audi BMW and Volkswagen more than Ford & Opel. I don’t think the Germans close their markets like Japan, China and S. Korea. They just make good stuff

I could be wrong

Trump also includes Germany and "many other counties" in his speeches.

He uses Germany for the "suicidal open borders policy" rant. Maybe he's just avoiding the appearance of piling on, or maybe there is another reason.

For example, Germany has some distance from the currency manipulation claim, because it uses the Euro, which is not directly manipulated by any single member state of the EU.

Trump also leaves Germany off the "gets free military defense" because the NATO agreement obliges member countries to mutual/collective defense, unlike the one-sided agreements we have with certain other nations.

Other than that, he is obviously playing favorites with Germany on account of his ancestry, and is probably reserving the opportunity to be chancellor of Germany so he can reprise Hitler.

Uhhh....because Germany gives us high-quality products, many uniquely German (MARZIPAN....yum!, etc), pairs fair wages to its workers, and doesn't illegally undercut US wages and workers? Truly, you're grasping at some very weird non-issues.

Trump talks about Germany regularly, describing them as a “economic behemoth”. He rightly points out that the US spends treasure to defend them & gets nothing in return—that they should start paying us for what we do for them.

I agree with Trump!
