Charles Koch Is Privately Committed To Getting Paul Ryan Nominated In Cleveland: Source
The Huffington Post's Huffpost Politics ^ | April 4, 2016 | Ryan Grim and Sam Stein

Charles Koch is confident House Speaker Paul Ryan could emerge from the Republican National Convention as the party’s nominee if Donald Trump comes up at least 100 delegates shy, he has told friends privately.

Koch believes Ryan would be a “shoo-in” at a contested convention, should the campaign get to that point. Though Koch’s wealth gives him significant influence within the Republican Party, it does not necessarily translate into skill in political prognostication. Still, he and his brother David are fond of Ryan. As a source close to the brothers told The Huffington Post, they appreciate the agenda he has pursued as speaker, including opposition to tax extenders and heightened warnings against corporate welfare — positions that contrast with the admittedly vague portfolio pushed by Donald Trump.

One source close to Ryan said he would only be interested in it if the party could unite behind him, a scenario he can’t envision. “I don’t know what to tell you? He doesn’t want the nomination. And can you imagine the backlash from the Trump forces if someone who didn’t run for president wins the nomination? It would be complete chaos,” he said....

Paul Ryan is one of many ‘trial balloons’ whose names will be floated ahead of the convention ‘fix’.

Its they’re throwing ‘RINO excrement’ up against the wall to see if it will ‘stick’.

Nothing like trying to intimidate another candidate’s supporters. I’m sure the founding fathers are smiling down upon us.

Are you talking about Koch? He's not intimidating, he's conspiring. With Ted Cruz voters. To give the nomination to Paul Ryan.

It is an interesting similarity between cults leaders and con men that they both try to drive a wedge between the mark and his friends and family, in order to cut him off from his usual means of support. This binds the mark closer to the cult leader or con man.

In an unrelated item, enjoy the next 300 posts about how Koch Brothers are tools of the Establishment, and secret Democrats.

Actually, Ryan is working hard to be the nominee in spite of what he says just like he lobbied to be Speaker while insisting he didn't want to be Speaker.

Never forget, Octavian became the first Roman Emperor by constantly insisting he didn't want the power he carefully arranged to have others bestow on him. It's one approach to gaining power. There are others, but when there's several people who at the moment have no power openly fighting for power, someone with power playing the, "please don't ask me" game hides a lot of maneuvering because the splashy stuff is focused on those who are openly seeking power.

Now that he's seen how lobbyists and others scrape and bow before Mr. Speaker, do you really think he's not working to be Mr. President where he doesn't have to put up with the same rules to the game that now limit him?
