I still think Tom Cotton is the best choice. No Sarah Palin, no Lou Christie, no Eye of Newt, no Porker, no Sessions, no Condiminium, etc. They’re all has-beens, retreads, yesterday’s news, too much baggage. Trump is all about a new beginning. His choice for VP will speak volumes.

By then Hunter had dropped out and Romney was a better choice than McCain. I voted for Huckabee, who I dislike, over McCain in Virginia’s late primary.

Don’t want Christie as vp but Christie/Lieawatha would be the best vp debate ever.

Agreed. He could use someone who will strengthen him in the western states although I don’t know who that is. A popular Virginian wouldn’t hurt. Don’t know who that is either. I think he’ll choose someone we haven’t heard much about, but all this speculating is good for keeping him in the news since he doesn’t have the cash to buy TV time.

I don’t think Chris Christie is going to excite a lot of people. I was never a Rand Paul fan but he is a Constitutionalist and he could help siphon off Bernie voters.

I don’t really know why Thune is so often mentioned for VP (he was last time too). He’s an establishment empty suit from a tiny heavily Republican state.

I’d take him over Chubs Christie though, and I’d take both of them over Newt.

The search seems very unfocused, I’d love to see an official shortlist come out.

If you’re from jersey (and I was some time ago) then you know Christie couldn’t even bring his own state to Trump if he was chosen. Like many others, I want to believe that Bernie voters will throw their support behind Trump, but that just isn’t going to happen. That’s not how the dem’s roll and Bernie will enthusiastically support Hillary once he gets his butt kissed at the convention. The best we can hope for is Bernie voters stay home because Hillary is seen as just another politician who can’t be trusted.

Picking Christie is a loser. He would take away some votes from Trump. It could take away enough to cause Trump to lose the election. Christie is only popular with the main stream media.

No, no, no, NNNNNNOOOOOOO!

He is very anti-gun. Do NOT pick this guy - choosing him will keep people home.

Pick a guy who will actually follow in Trump’s footsteps, try to do the same things. Christie is a Big Government Republican, distinguishable ONLY because he doesn’t take crap from anyone. But he still has the Big Government mentality.

I repeat: NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!

“He is a very very smart man. He would be an excellent VP.”

George Soros is also a very, very smart man (arguably smarter than Christie, and he has about $40 billion to prove it) - do you want HIM anywhere near the levers of power?

Smart is, IMHO, a base, a minimum, a prerequisite to any position high in government, let alone being a heartbeat away from the Presidency, and I think that most people agree with that. So let’s look at some other characteristics, shall we?

“I don’t think he’ll be Veep, but his role will be large.”

Well, then, he’ll certainly fit into that role without too much trouble (you can’t say that much about his clothing or cars, can you?).
