County clerks across the state were preparing to start a recount on Friday of the ballots casted in Michigan for the President of the United States. But the count may wait to begin until Tuesday, if it happens at all.
After a recount request was filed by Green Party candidate Jill Stein on Wednesday, representatives of the campaign for President-Elect Donald Trump filed an objection to the recount Thursday afternoon, according to a press release from the Michigan Secretary of State office.
Michigan Republican Party spokesperson Sarah Anderson confirmed that the party planned to file an objection to the recount that day, around 1 p.m.
The largest counties, like Oakland and Ingham counties, were expected to start on Friday, but now the objection must be reviewed by the State Board of Canvassers at 9:30 a.m. according to Secretary of State spokesperson Fred Woodhams.
"They will hear the objection, if they agree, then the recount won't go forward. If they deny it, then there would have to be two business days that elapse. It would be on hold at least until Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday. That assumes there's no court action in between," Woodhams said.
Emmet County Clerk Juli Wallin said she had heard yesterday that Emmet and Charlevoix County could potentially start their recount on Dec. 10. But after the challenge was filed, Wallin said it's possible the counties won't start a recount until Dec. 12 or 13.
"This pushes us all backwards," Wallin said, "We might not get to start until Dec. 12 or Dec. 13."
We’ll know officially sometime before the 2020 election.
Massive voter fraud found in Nevada.
Attention Trump campaign staff and lawyers!
Trump needs to have his people on he and and trained because the DNC is the haunt of lying, scheming scumbags. They will challenge to invalidate every vote for Trump that they can, demand any vote with stray marks is for Hillary, and find boxes of votes for Hillary.
“on hand” ... not “on he and” ... stupid touchscreen/autocorrect....
Even better news—Jill Stein withdrew her request for recount.
I expect that to happen here in MI too as I would not be surprised to see the AG win his case.
Jill be gone. She dropped her PA recount request;
Trump shouldn’t do anything now. On January 21st he should have the IRS and Justice Department investigate the entire Clinton machine as well as Media Matters and every 501c3 where Soros is on the board.
Well, yeah, that’s a given.
As I wrote the other day, and barring conviction in matters relating to Arkancide of course, all America owes Hillary is 3 hots and a cot in some jail ... for a very long time.
Michigan AG also objected.
She didn’t have the money PA required. In MI taxpayers pay for the recount. In any case, MI will probably deny the recount at the hearing on Monday.
And the Greens didn’t front the necessary cash in PA so no recount there. I think this whole thing is going to fizzle.
Trump lawyers should have flooded Nevada preparatory to the election. Nevada is kinda like Broward County in Florida. The fraud is a given and there will be high levels of it. In Broward it is enough that it gave Obama his two Florida wins.
Irrelevant now that Pennsylvania has stopped. Even without Wisconsin and Michigan Trump has 280 electoral votes. Of course this assumes individual electors don’t go rogue. Michigan could use the funds for far better projects than a recount. Besides, isn’t this the state that took forever to declare because they counted and recounted votes to make sure they reported correctly?
Really doesn’t matter at this point, Today Stein dropped her ballot challenge in Pennsylvania and even if the left managed to steal Michigan and Wisconsin Hillary would still lose 258/280.
> Trump lawyers should have flooded Nevada preparatory to the election.
While in a just world, that might be the case, doing so would just bring about a recount frenzy in the nation, which only helps the challenger.
They are despicable losers.
Who is it now that is not abiding by the results of an election?
Tha same kind of low lives who wanted TRUMP to swear to support the party’s nominee. RINOS and Democrats - perfect together.
