Can we just get along?
This question is being asked more and more, what with the bitter polarization of the nation. The answer, right now, would appear to be a resounding no.
It’s not because we can’t. We don’t want to.
I had that thought the other day when I was listening to the Seattle City Council. Many council meetings of late involve left-wingers shouting at other left-wingers for not being left-wing enough. But on this day, a new purity test of left-wingedness was revealed.
The council was debating the juvenile-justice issue. Not everyone agrees whether a new jail should be built. But everyone in the room seemed aligned that incarcerating kids is to be avoided, and that other forms of justice and rehabilitation should be pursued, except maybe in the most extreme violent cases.
One council member, Tim Burgess, tried to highlight this basic agreement by noting that “even some of our Republican friends” have been calling for seismic changes to the incarceration system. Burgess cited an article by the Seattle brothers Mike and John McKay, former U.S. attorneys and, yep, both Republicans, who excoriated their own party’s attorney general, Jeff Sessions, for calling for harsher sentences even on low-level crimes.
Kshama Sawant wasn’t having any of that. She stood up and said Burgess wasn’t speaking for her with this “our Republican friends” stuff. Because, she assured the crowd, she doesn’t have any Republican friends....

The Seattle, Portland, SF, and L.A. cities are the absolute worst places for any normal thinking person to live in the Western USA. When the shooting starts I hope all good Freepers and conservatives in general are away from those cities.
Then their supply lines can be closed down, shut down their power and water, then wait for them to either give up or start killing each other for supplies until they give up.
The big question is what to do with these people once it’s all over with. They can’t stay in America so where do they go. France has offered to take leftist refugees; that’s a start. Maybe more leftist European countries will do the same. I don’t know but big changes are coming soon at the rate the mental illness of the left is getting worse.
They aren’t even fighting for anything but their hateful ideology. They can’t be reasoned with. They are like slobbering drunks who won’t listen to anyone and just want to fight. They are truly disgusting.

Works for me as long as they are gone permanently. They don’t belong in America anyway and I think they know that at some level. America has never felt like home to them because they never embraced it or fought for it. They will be happier anywhere else even if they end up being some Muslim’s house servant and part time sex toy. They seem to be into that kinda thing anyway.

It do not think it’s limited to one part of the country. For good or ill we are more split than ever. I can imagine the nation split in two as in a civil war or 2 or more nations forming with or without a war.

We are split because we demonize people who disagree with us. That someone is wrong on an issue makes him stupid, ignorant; but not necessarily unredeemably evil.
If Oscar Lopez is demonized, should I then be demonized because I would not yield to the pressure of the ATF/Chairman Rostenkowski to frame my friend Oscar Lopez because Oscar threatened Rosty’s voter base?
Seattle is a no go zone for me. I once got a job offer in Seattle which I turned down. The reason I gave was that I would probably get arrested for urinating on Lenin’s Statue.
