Several reporters were piqued Thursday evening by a county-level Republican official's one-liner cited in the Tennessean (emphasis mine):
[Pearson is] more ashamed of the way Democrats, the media and opponents have attacked her president, and she is disappointed in congressional Republicans for not doing more to help Trump. She applauded Donald Trump Jr. for releasing his emails about a meeting with a Russian attorney in the midst of the campaign against Clinton. Theres very little that would change her mind about Trump. I dont know what he would have to do I guess maybe kill someone. Just in cold blood, Pearson said.
Lest we forget that Trump himself said during the campaign he "could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody" and not lose voters; the ugliness of the imagery notwithstanding, it all goes to underscore the inflexibility of the president's support from then to now.
But there's another line in the story's passage that received almost zero play among the same set of media. If we're casting aside the meaning of sample size and using this one individual as perhaps an epitome of Trump's support, it's worth noting that the person "applauded" Donald Trump Jr. for dumping his email exchange with Rob Goldstone just before the New York Times hit "publish" on its report about the message chain. Recall that his decision at least befuddled, if not not inspired mockery from observers close to the center of the action in Washington, D.C. Was it an act of incompetence? Desperation?
Whatever it was, it allowed the Trump-sympathetic press and many sympathizers to control their some positive version of the story. For Bill O'Reilly, it was to highlight that the Russian lawyer with whom Trump Jr. met was a fraud. For many more, it was that Trump Jr. was transparent: a comment made by the most important person who could've done it.
"My son is a high-quality person and I applaud his transparency," said President Trump in a statement on Tuesday. He repeated the "transparent" remark early Wednesday morning, 11 hours before the Tennessean article posted.
The voter quoted in the piece "applauded" Trump Jr., too.
It would definitely depend on who he killed in cold blood for me.
Apparently, and like the Grinch with the Who’s, completely puzzled by the happiness of the proles with their leader.
Unlike the Grinch, don’t think Podhoretz will ever sled down to Whoville to join the party.
Them and Beck
Mores the shame
Depends on which enemy combatants the Commander in Chief capped.
All Trump would have to do to shake his support is propose amnesty.
Kill in cold blood? As trump supporter, I say that depends whao he killed
And/or sign onto the damned Paris Accords.
I trust Trump’s judgement...
“The Weekly Standard is still in business? “
My thoughts exactly. When Bill Kristol went off the rails against Trump I heard their subscriptions plummeted bigly.
As my 81 year old mother said, “I don’t care if Trump colluded with Satan if it meant that Crooked Hillary lost!”
What Trump friendly press are they being talking about?
So many people trust Trump no matter what because the DC swamp creatures have proven over and over that they can’t be trusted.
“It would definitely depend on who he killed in cold blood for me.”
Even so, Trump’s kill count would only be one compared to how many by the Clinton cabal?
I don’t know who Chris Deaton is, and I have no desire to read more of him. Obviously, he is part of the deep corruption of the media.
Trump Spokeswoman: Fifth Avenue Shooting Comments a 'Joke'
"I think it's no secret he doesn't care for political correctness, and of course it raises eyebrows ," Pierson told Fox News' Martha MacCallum on the "America's Newsroom" program.
"But a lot of things raise eyebrows with Mr. Trump. He was repeating conversations he had with people. Mr. Trump doesn't believe in having consultant-driven talking points . . . He loves his voters as much as they love him. I think everyone heard in the video it was a joke and everyone laughed." Source
Such people are very rare. People who can shake things up, get stung time after time and still come out swinging and standing up for the American people without cringing and weakening to the daily assault from the entire universe against him.
Donald Trump is not perfect but he is exceptional. He is exactly the right guy at the right time for the right reasons in our country now. Without him, we would be just another socialist world failure.
Your 81 year old mother has her head screwed on straight! :)
