“And many of them are a lot higher caliber than the .223 that everyone in the press are so afraid of.”

Yes. Yes they are.

Just reinforces how little our press really understands. At a time, I thought it was all because they were told to be this way. Later I realized how little they know about the real world.

Tragic thought. The blind leading who they think are blind. Some are not, and see right through them.

I've never seen the beauty in an AK. but they are lethal and never jam. The improved version has hardly distinguishable ballistics compared to our AR’s.

And they area very cheap to build, anywhere.

If you look at what is effective in the urban environment in Syria? The 50BMG and 12.7MM sniper rifles are doing an incredible job. Long range, accurate devastating.

Zagros they call them. There is a company in the US that makes similar rifles. And I've read the North Vietnamese are making a repeating version that is very very good. Have read Israel is employing them.

I don’t buy in bulk like that. I get 50-100 rounds at a time, keep it in plastic snap-lid ammo boxes, then put it in wooden storage crates. My den looks like an armory.

That’s awesome and weird.

I have a 1942 Mosin made in Tula, but more arcanely, I inherited a few WW2 rifles from grandpa in law, who was into that.

All I remember is one is chambered in 7mm mauser and another might be Italian. They grace my wall and add a touch of elegance that I otherwise lack.

I’d like to shoot them someday but want to find rounds with less powder.

privi (now PPU) makes good lower power ammo compared to the old military stuff. ( I like to shoot period ammo if possible).

For Mosin info try http://www.7.62x54r.net and more in depth http://mosinnagant.net (not updated lately)

For Italian try here:

I got my Mosin from a surplus deal and it cost me $99. Ive fired it enough to know that it hurts.

The other ones are unknown quantities though. I don’t know how well they were maintained or treated, and I will have a gunsmith check them out first.

Both my doctors made me drop all that in June before I get sicker and die. My kitchen looks looks like an article from Mother Earth News now. No bread, pasta, fried anything, potatoes (which really bites because I have a barrel of redskin potatoes growing on my patio). I have dropped 22 pounds and learned to make pizza crust from riced cauliflower, though.

Send me a pic of your kitchen. I could really use some good food porn.

So I signed in to pray and saw this pic of Thomas. Praying to a Christian God, Jesus, Lord God.

If somebody told me 30 years ago I would be posting on a website to protect us Godless communists with Guns protected by our 2ND Amendment? My dad and mom would be proud.

Yeah, but crabs turn trash into tasty, tasty food. Should be plenty to go around, though.

This is the wrong example, isn’t it?

Of course, we get into a dicey area here, when it comes to organized armed resistance ...

OK.

I guess reliability is a thing of beauty.

Range and Accuracy is not that great on common AK’s.

Some of the improved ones, are very comparable with AR’s.

I've heard the Kurds frowned on the AR’s because of the issue of maintenance.

70 times more weapons than all police and military services combined

There is a huge difference between armed people ordered to use their weapons and armed people who take an individual decision to use their weapons.

Japanese Admiral

Someone at the table asked a Japanese Admiral why, with the Pacific Fleet devastated at Pearl Harbor and the mainland US forces in what Japan had to know was a pathetic state of unreadiness, Japan had not simply invaded the West Coast.

Commander Menard would never forget the crafty look on the Japanese Commander’s face as he frankly answered the question.

"You are right", he told the Americans. "We did indeed know much about your preparedness. We knew that probably every second home in your country contained firearms. We knew that your country actually had state championships for private citizens shooting military rifles. We were not fools to set foot in such quicksand."

That’s why you don’t see a lot of that ANTIFA crapola going on in GA. Never bring a mask and a baseball bat to a gunfight. :-)

Gorilla style combat.
Over take their armory
Knock out their communication
Cut off their food supply
Take out major roads and bridges
Lure them into traps
Am I missing anything?
