"Today I am announcing that I will not seek reelection to the US Congress in 2018. Although service in Congress remains the greatest privilege of my life, I never intended to make it a lifetime commitment, and I have already stayed far longer than I had originally planned," the Texas Republican said in a note to supporters.

Talked good game but not much to show for all the talk!!!

That should be the tagline or motto for almost all the Republicans in Congress!

Jeb has a ring to it but my real litmus test is did you support Ryan and Boehner for Speaker or do you oppose the leadership?

This guy failed it.

He has a very powerful committee chairmanship now, but will be term-limited out of that role next year, so probably seems like a good time for him to call it a day. Also he’s a moron.

When they stay in Washington for any length of time they usually end up in some trap or scheme. We have a very compromised group of men and women after so many years of Obama spying and games played on these officials.

we are finding out just how betrayed Republicans were by their leaders, just watching Flake, Corker, McCain, McConnell, Ryan etc. has been amazing to see how controlled they are, which can no longer be hidden.

Before assuming anything, use this as a guide. Though it is not to be declared as definitive, it will give a very good comparative.

I knew Jeb in College Republicans when we went to Texas A&M. He was very ambitious and he achieved his dream. He never did anything for anyone else, so I’m not surprised by his departure. He ranked high in the leadership in the House, but only because he served higher leadership. He could have done so much more but didn’t.
