PR boss Jennifer Palmieri: ‘We reduced Hillary to a female facsimile of a male president’
The Manchester Guardian ^ | May 4, 2018 | Decca Aitkenhead

Posted on 06/01/2018 7:18:06 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

If Jennifer Palmieri could turn back the clock, and make one change to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, what would it be? I can guess any number of answers when I put the question to the campaign’s communications director, but not the one she gives.

“I would have spent more time and money,” she replies without hesitation, “in Texas, Arizona and Georgia.”

Palmieri’s explanation makes perfect sense. She says they made the classic mistake of devoting their energy to the swing states of previous elections, such as Ohio, while overlooking historically safe Republican states now becoming winnable due to shifting demographics. It’s a clever answer – analytic, pragmatic, strategic; everything, in other words, we associate the Clinton campaign. What also makes it quintessentially – perhaps calamitously – Clintonesque, however, is its failure to strike any kind of emotional chord.

Palmieri was 24 when she first worked in the White House, for Bill Clinton. Under Barack Obama she became director of communications and in 2015 she joined Hillary’s campaign team. The 51-year-old has dedicated her life to the Democrats and, had about 80,000 Americans voted differently in November 2016, she would now be in the White House again. Instead, Palmieri is in London, promoting her book about what went wrong.

There is nothing colourless or dry about Dear Madam President. In person, its author is forthright, quick-witted and doesn’t mince her words. She describes Donald Trump as a dangerous, unstable, racist misogynist, looks on the verge of tears at times, and can be very funny....

Hillary was NOT “fixab!e.” They started with a flawed product and ended with a disaster.

Thank God.

The projection is fascinating - she’s decribing Hillary Clinton to a t.

How about "sent over a goon and stomped Zdenek Gazda's phone on 9/11/2016 before he could tweet Hillary getting the vapors."

I thought their real failure was not being able to present Hillary as a believable facsimile of a human being.

When I get depressed, I watch the Election Night videos on YouTube, nothing funnier. They start out at 7 pm thinking she will win in a wide margin according to the flawed exit polls released at 5 pm, start getting worried at 8:30 when Florida hasn’t been called, and then turn to anger and bewilderment about 10 pm when the brilliant Nate Silver goes from “Hillary has an 82 percent chance of winning” to “the betting markets have Trump the favorite”. Notice the writing style of little bitter Miss Palmieri - a lot of baseless name calling - racist, sexist, misogynist. Well, my name for you and one that I can back up with statistics, dear, is “Loser”.

She didn’t win, because we didn’t want her to be president. It’s really that simple.

She’s an awful person, she isn’t a leader in any way shape or form, she’s nuts, crazy, arrogant, psychotic, a stalker... I could go on and on.

Please keep the worlds smartest and most qualified woman to yourself. No one wants her, mk?

Maybe it's as simple as 'she didn't deserve to be there in the first place, she's untrustworthy and unlikable, can not love anything and therefore can not love her country, bullied her way to power on the coat tails of her perverted bully scam husband.'

Maybe it's as simple as America said 'no' ... despite the fact that every illicit lever of power was pulled to make up for what she isn't? The woman is just an average uncharismatic alcoholic singaller hypnotized by her own grandiosity and entitlement - a personality disordered frail old woman with a self serving strong drive for power?

The more remarkable thing is that she got so far ... not that she didn't cross the finish line. That she got so far reveals a weakness of the country, not her own virtue. Even serial killers show ambition, cunning, drive and focus ... but it's not praiseworthy ... those things are only praiseworthy when coupled with character and actual leadership towards something positive.

Go away already! Go away 30 years ago!

Not that anyone asked me, but my suggestion would have been to just get rid of Hillary. Period.

Replace her with literally anyone. Joe Biden would have motivated the blue-collar union guys. Bernie Sanders would have motivated the let’s-pretend socialists. Oprah Winfrey would have motivated the people who sit around and watch TV all day.

Yep. Anyone but Hillary.

They keep dissecting this, trying to find a different reason. It's a denialism bordering on insanity.

Way back when, my suggestion was she had to be presentable, which meant a face lift and a fat farm.
She looked half way decent at the debates but everywhere else she was a schlump - she looked old\haggard and had no energy.

Palmieri is nuts. They couldn’t have gotten GA\TX at any price. They could have had a shot at AZ.

The endless navel gazing by the left and why she lost is boring. To me it was more Donald Trump winning than Hillary losing. He outworked her and ran a better campaign. One day I expect he will write a book on how he did it and I think it will have more insight than all of the whining Hillary has done.
