What I always thought for a liberal running for President, the best campaign manager should be once who is creative as well as selling their soul. Liberals do not understand how to manipulate. They only know how to phone it in and cheat resulting in the same mistakes. Obama was different because he was half black and that ship sailed. Harris, Booker, Holder will not get the same treatment.
If I was Hillary’s campaign manager, this is what I would have done. I wouldn’t have made her the nominee. I would have went with Bernie. Let him do all the dirty work, do the debates, go on the campaign trail and spend a fortune. Theoretically, without the superdelegates, Hillary didn’t cross the threshold to win the nomination outright and should have deferred to Bernie. Keeps her magnanimous to the party and Bernie supporters. This would have played big in the media and for Dems throughout the country.
About four weeks prior to the election, have Bernie come up lame where he says he is physically incapable of running for President at this time.
That leaves Kane at the top of the ticket. This is where the “Draft Hillary Movement” would come in. With a complicit media and ramped up Bernie supporters, there is a full coordinated effort to recruit Hillary for the top of the ticket. Kane graciously bows out and Bernie is recruited to be Hillary’s VP.
The result for Hillary would be, very little campaigning the last few weeks. Maybe 2 stops each in PA, WI and MI. No debates with Trump. No need to fund raise since Bernie has already done that for you and you already have your supporters as well as Bernie’s supporters in place.
If that was done, Hillary would have been President, using minimal effort and protected from negative exposure.
