Texas Democratic Senate candidate Beto O'Rourke said at a CNN town hall Thursday night that he would still vote to impeach President Donald Trump.
The El Paso congressman challenging Sen. Ted Cruz said that his position on impeachment hadn't changed, even as Cruz has used the issue to galvanize conservative voters against O'Rourke's campaign.
Asked by CNN's Dana Bash if he had changed his mind after saying he'd vote to impeach Trump this summer, O'Rourke said, "I haven't."
He pointed to the ongoing probe into whether Trump's 2016 campaign colluded with Russia.
"There may be an open question as to whether the President, then the candidate, sought to collude with the Russian government in 2016," O'Rourke said. "But to quote George Will -- very conservative columnist -- when we saw him on that stage in Helsinki defending Vladimir Putin, the head of the country that attacked our democracy in 2016 instead of this country, and its citizens and this amazing democracy, that was collusion in action."(continued)

I still support Bayto being hanged, drawn and quartered.
Actually, he's playing to folks NOT in the Great State of Texas. That's who's funding him anyway.
Impeach him over a press conference. Yeah, that’s the ticket!
CNN has been pulling out all the stops for this snowflake ever since Cruz wiped the floor with him the other night in their debate. Last night they devoted 10 minutes during their roundtable showing him on the campaign trail and giving him a free political advertisement.
That little dweeb has great support from the spoiled millennials and some yuppies. It makes me ill. Darned people move to an area for jobs and lower taxes...and then vote liberal. I am hoping and praying Cruz wins.
Is he drunk, again?
I thought the CNN Townhall was supposed to be changed to a Debate so Senator Cruz would agree to show up.
I could swear that CNN is in the tank for Beto, but they wouldn’t be that blatantly biased. After all, they are just supposed to report the News, right?
Har de har har...
This means the race is already over and hes just playing to his Manhattan and Hollywood fans for future fanfare.
This punk is an idiot. What sane person would debate Cruz?
Hell he was only the captain of the Harvard debate club. The kid has serious issues.
I’m guessing that the “Impeach because we’re having a tantrum and not for any real reason” isn’t a winning strategy with the electorate.
I haven’t seen so many people desperate to prop up a failure since...oh, last week. These guys seem to make a habit of it.
Beto seems like hes had way too much caffeine. So hyped up
Did this guy ever get his name legally changed from Robert to Beto?
Or is he fraudster like Barry Soetoro. Just decides to go by another name without the legality of a court order?
38 mil buys a lot of talk
And that is significant because?
I don't think he will get the chance, especially since the Senate has nothing to do with impeachment. That happens in the House. The Senate holds the trial after impeachment. He may not be smart enough to know that.
He’s the RFK version of Occasional-Cotex.
Well this election should resolve the “blue Texas” question at least. Here is a statewide election where every democrat will be voting for Robert O’Rourke - as I suspect less than 1% of them are going to cross over and vote for Cruz. And I suspect less than 1% of Republicans are going to cross over and vote for Robert.
