First lady Melania Trump will not appear at any campaign events in the final days leading up to the Nov. 6 midterm elections, her office confirmed Thursday. This comes as President Donald Trump plans to hold at least 10 campaign rallies leading up to Election Day as he and the Republican Party seek to keep Democrats from taking control of Congress.
"Due to her schedule as a mother and First Lady, especially with the holidays coming up, there are no plans for her to campaign at this time," her communications director, Stephanie Grisham, said in a statement.
The first lady has not been seen on the campaign trail during the 2018 midterm election and was a demure campaigner for her husband in 2016....

Ever since her visit to the hospital in May, Melania has had very limited public appearances. I hope and pray for good health for our lovely First Lady.
I think this is smart. Let PDJT rally and drum up support for the Rep candidates. She takes care of herself and Barron. Stay at home 1st Lady if you will. Great image and a Great FLOTUS. IMO.

I agree. It doesn’t hurt to keep her away from politics with the one obvious exception of her husband.

Not every president’s wife is going to be comfortable speaking in front of people who have made very ugly remarks about you, or your marriage, based on false information.
Michele Obama was comfortable with speeches because she is a naturally argumentative, pompous kind of personality.
Plus the press fawned over her every utterance.
Mr. Trump seems to thrive on walking into the high risk, high adrenaline environment.
That kind of pace and pressure is not for everybody, even if you believe in and support your spouse completely.
This is not a usual American Presidency in many respects.
One being that almost two years after being sworn into office, the media continues to treat all things Trump in a shabby way. They continue to drum up resentment to the president from other Libs. Now Melania has some woman in Africa calling her racist for wearing a Pith styled sun hat. She’s probably had enough of the crappy, petty, childish behavior for now.
Good for her. I was at Trump’s rally last weekend. Her presence would have been nice, but the people are there to see the President. She deserves a life away from the spotlight.

Good. She has her head screwed on straight. They seem to have a good relationship. She is first lady, not a politician. It’s kinda nice to have someone that skips that Lady McBeth BS first ladies seem to get into these days.
It is too bad for her many fans, but considering the current level of leftist insanity and violence, it is a sensible decision.

Melania is who she is.....and she’s a mother first. And speaking only for myself...I would do the same.
