Profile of a Sinking Blue State, or Why Florida Dodged a Bullet in Election 2018
Sunshine State News ^ | December 12th 2018 | Nancy Smith

On a day when an editorial in the venerable Chicago Tribune newspaper is making national news for pleading with Illinois lawmakers to clean up the state's fiscal mess, it's a good time for Florida to count its blessings.

There but for the grace of God and a slew of successful conservative policies ...

The Sunshine State barely avoided a great big fiscal rathole of its own on Election Day by rejecting progressive leadership and the prospect of turning a sound red state blue. Maybe not Illinois blue, but a Gillum victory likely would have started the Sunshine State down Insolvency Road. The James Madison Institute report published in October told us that.

Right now, on the basis of its solvency in five separate categories, Florida ranks 4th among U.S. states for fiscal health, behind only Nebraska, South Dakota and Tennessee.

Illinois, on the other hand, ranks 50th -- dead last and apparently in real trouble.

Next month Democratic Gov.-elect J.B. Pritzker will take office alongside the Democratic-controlled Illinois General Assembly.

Editors explain the facts in the Prairie State: "The costs of lawmakers’ recklessness are borne in many ways. Springfield raised the state income tax by 32 percent in 2017, and still Illinois can’t keep a balanced budget.

Meanwhile, the Tribune ended its editorial less with a ring of hope than a ringing shot at the status quo. "We’ve heard (Gov.-elect Prizker) talk about raising revenue by shifting the state to a progressive tax rate that can extract more money from higher-income earners. That idea strikes us as no panacea. It’s easy to demand more money from taxpayers.

It’s also easy to continue borrowing money. Both would weaken the state, and then weaken it further by driving employers elsewhere."

We need to teach about socialism in our schools.

How about investigating and uncovering the Marxist RAT voter fraud that took place and prosecuting those that planned and executed it in every state???

Basically the same sort of thing that took place in the Soviet Union and East Bloc in the 1960s to 1980s era (particularly with the corruption under Brezhnev). Ultimately, it all came collapsing down under it’s own weight and contradictions.

My world history class in high school got into communism and socialism. This, of course, was in the 1950s. To compensate, evolution was not taught in science class. LOL

...Why Florida Dodged a Bullet in Election 2018

Florida needs to take strong steps toward ensuring there is no election fraud - the dems will re-double their efforts in 2020.

I am afraid it was the last win in Florida. They just opened the vote to a million felons. In addition to vote harvesting the Rats have perfected getting ballot initiatives that will inflate Rat turnout for November elections.

The Sons of Liberty :" Florida needs to take strong steps toward ensuring there is no election fraud
- the dems will re-double their efforts in 2020."

As I recall, didn't Florida find another 6000 votes that didn't get counted,
after the final tabulation of votes ?
Those votes may have changed the final scoreboard.

This vote harvesting business needs to be taken to court ASAP. It is corrupt and fraudulent to the core. If it is allowed to stand, fair elections will be a thing of the past. We will truly be a banana republic and the laughingstock of the world.

>We need to teach about socialism in our schools.

SH!T, FRiend, we ‘teach’ Socialism on the very FIRST pay-check, for the rest of our working days (so much for that 4th/5th & 13th A. Rights there. Hell, you had to get govt ‘permission’ via eVerify/etc.).

EVERY day of life in the U.S. is a teaching day vs. Socialism: property taxes (property rights? HA) vs. schools (& choice), down to the roads walked/driven (subsidized ‘mass transit’, gas taxes, ‘licenses’, insurance)

How much did THAT ‘set in’?? Over 50% seem to believe Socialism is the way to go..and the (R)N(C) train ain’t stopping the trend, let alone REVERSING.

Teach? Hell, the majority ain’t L-E-A-R-N-I-N-G (from numerous examples).
