Here's the price Mitt Romney is paying for standing against Trump

SALT LAKE CITY — One man is an island: Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah.

The 72-year-old former Republican presidential nominee has isolated himself from Republicans in the Senate, in his home state and across the country by occasionally — but strongly — criticizing President Donald Trump, including the president's efforts to enlist the aid of foreign governments to probe a leading political opponent.

"By all appearances, the President's brazen and unprecedented appeal to China and to Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden is wrong and appalling," Romney tweeted earlier this month.

In recent weeks, the senator's acts of rebellion against the commander in chief have been flagrant: from publicly confirming "Pierre Delecto" as the secret identity he used to counter Trump on Twitter to bashing Trump's Syria policy on the Senate floor to positioning himself on the front edge of any move by GOP lawmakers to break away and either censure the president or vote to remove him from office if the House follows through with impeachment.

While that House-side inquiry has put a heat lamp on Republican senators from states where voters aren't thrilled with the president's actions — particularly swing-state lawmakers who are up for re-election in 2020 — Romney's criticism of Trump hasn't prompted those colleagues to follow him into the political no-man's land of finding fault with both the president's conduct and the divisiveness of impeachment.

Re: “Once again, the GOP has failed to control the narrative.”

Trump needs to control the narrative - not the GOP.

No GOP Congress Person is ever going to defend Trump.

They have no idea what Trump will say or do tomorrow.

They have no idea what new Trump scandal will emerge next.

They also know that Trump will never defend any Conservative who gets attacked by the MSM and the Political Left.

Judge Roy Moore, EPA Director Scott Pruitt, Rep. Steve King, and Secretary of Labor Alexander Accosta are the four best known Conservatives who got flushed down the political toilet by completely false charges.

Trump did nothing consequential to help them.

Romney peaked in that one 2012 debate in which he showed some fight. Then he slunk off and never fought again when the 47% remark came out.

Trump shows us you got to fight every step of the way regardless of what they throw at you.

Romney screwed up in 2012 and has now shown us that he is a lot worse as a Republican than we had imagined back then.

I’ve been voting since the Reagan/Carter election and never ever in my life have I ever seen a politician call a press conference to bash his own parties nominee for President. I couldn’t believe that, but that’s Mutt Romney for you. Why this POS is allowed to call himself a Republican is beyond me. Democrats would never stand for that for a second. And what infuriated me even more was how this scumbag tries to come across as Reagan by imitating Reagans mannerisms. The guy is a lunatic, he really is.....

You said it much more moderately than I would have. And you're right. In hindsight, as expensive a mistake as it has been for our country that the Republican lost in 2012, it did have a huge upside in that we got President Trump. I love that man so very much.

How queer, it was okay when Obama did it to candidate Trump.

That poor bastard thinks the Fake Media loves him. They hate his guts, in some ways more than Trump because he is a religious nut.

The price isn’t high enough. Romney hasn’t yet lost the ability to betray and speak.

Romney, Black, and Brennan took part
in the attacks on America on 911 and thereafter.

They should be taken to Justice.

McCain and flake are merely globalist anti Americans who wish to erase our country.
Mitt Romney is all that plus he instituted gay marriage through executive order, and had a curriculum instituted teaching elementary school students sadomasochism and homosexuality when he was Governor of Massachusetts.

“Trump is probably costing Romney money.”

That’s the case with almost all the Never Trumpers. Look at the unholy alliance the McConnell-Chao duo has with China. The rest of them most likely are in deep with various lobbyists.

But for Mitt (”Snit”, as someone said), it’s jealousy. Stephanie Grisham said that on a FNC interview last week. She worked on his campaign when he ran against Obama, and knows how he is.

Obama has the goods on Romney, which is why Romney was told to lose in 2012, but not bow out the race.

Now Trump has the goods Obama had on Romney, but Trump doesn’t extort. Romney knows he will face justice with Trump in office.

Scuttlebutt is the goods include videos of pedaphilia and Satanic ritual abuse including something akin to pizza fence. So don’t be surprised if he takes the same line as the MSM claiming Clinton videos are forged and can’t be believed.

So much arrogance & stupidity by those who think requesting an investigation of the Bidens is a campaign tactic. Question: What if the Bidens are guilty? Should they go unpunished? If proven guilty, should Joe be allowed to run for president? Then again, an investigation could prove him not guilty. This is why there are investigations.
