Opportunities coming up for minorities in NASCAR

Aw hell, diversity is racism in drag. If a driver of color (yee haw, I'm a person of color*) can make it through the ranks like everybody else in nascar did, great gobs of props his/her/its way!

If not, well... tough noogies.

The solution is for the current crop of white drivers to have black children. In 25 years, all the drivers would be black.

But, but, how will they apply Affirmative Action to ensure minority success (like in law school admission)? Two suggestions - 1. The Daytona 500 (480 for blacks), 2. Whitey has to drive backwards. And why make corporations pay for this - why not support the teams based on ticket reparations? I just don't get it.

Amish buggy racing. Now there's something I'd pay good money to see. ;-)

FA- The only color I want to see on the race track is the flames coming out of the exhaust pipes. All the rest of this diversity stuff is crap.

If folks want to race and get involved, nothing is stopping them but having lots of dollars to pay for the car, the team, the testing etc.

It doesn't hurt to have some talent at driving too. :-)

More of people playing the NASCAR race card, if you care.

Yeah, the media plays the race card against Nascar. But this looks like a partnership between two teams owners, instead of some kind of quota by Nascar, so it looks good to me. I don't think there should be quotas, obviously.

Hopefully, they'll go with drives that have earned their rides, at least to some degree. :^)

Ditto. Reggie White is one of the good guys too and not afraid to be politically incorrect. It's a smart business move on his part, a potential goldmine if he can find a good black driver. He will find one sooner or later at some dirt track out in the country.

Well, if you consider an Asian a minority, that's not a bad idea.

Racing at 200mph is not for amateurs, putting green rookies into a Winston Cup car is basically suicide for the inexperienced. But i'm sure that the one's screaming the loudest about Racism in NASCAR will also be the first to blame NASCAR when their driver slams into the wall & becomes the next unfortunate driver to die in a Winston Cup race.

While I wish that they would do just what you say, I know that they will cave just like I said. Outside pressure will force them to let someone in, on the other hand if they can't compete they still can't race.
