I agree with you - the above sentence is the first clue that this is a sham. A real worship service is NOT a "performance". Unfortunately, the "performance" mindset is all to prevalent in America's growing megachurches. True worship focuses on God, not ourselves.

I too agree. Seems so many "pastors" of churches I've attended in recent years are more interested in "entertaining" the masses rather than the preaching and teaching of our Lords words and works. It also seems many "pastors" are more concerned with the offering plate proceeds and the building of those glorious and fanciful monuments to men than providing a Godly environment for worship for their flocks
