HUNTINGTON, Conn., Jan. 21 /U.S. Newswire/ -- During the 2004 State of the Union Address given to Congress last night, President Bush declared his position that "gay" marriage is immoral and is NOT the will of the people. He lashed out at activist judges for trying to redefine heterosexual marriage and said our ENTIRE nation must take a principled stand AGAINST those who are trying to destroy one of the most fundamental, enduring institutions of our civilization.

The President stated, "A strong America must also value the institution of marriage. I believe we should respect individuals as we take a principled stand for one of the most fundamental, enduring institutions of our civilization. Congress has already taken a stand on this issue by passing the Defense of Marriage Act, signed in 1996 by President Clinton. That statute protects marriage under federal law as a union of a man and a woman, and declares that one state may not redefine marriage for other states."

President Bush continued, "Activist judges, however, have begun redefining marriage by court order, without regard for the will of the people and their elected representatives. On an issue of such great consequence, the people's voice must be heard. If judges insist on forcing their arbitrary will upon the people, the only alternative left to the people would be the constitutional process. Our nation must defend the sanctity of marriage."

Stephen Bennett, executive director of Stephen Bennett Ministries in Huntington, CT, applauds the President's remarks. "As a former homosexual, I am grateful that the President had the courage to address this issue. I know first hand how immoral and destructive homosexuality really is. As a man who once was in a long term committed same-sex relationship, I now see how it was only a counterfeit of the real thing."

Bennett is now happily married to his wife of ten years and the father of their two little children, a boy and a girl. He is a national, passionate speaker on the issue of homosexuality and its consequences on society.

The President ended, "The outcome of this debate is important - - and so is the way we conduct it. The same moral tradition that defines marriage also teaches that each individual has dignity and value in God's sight."

"Passing legislation allowing same-sex marriages or civil unions only enables homosexual men and women to remain trapped and gives them a false hope. Real love for these individuals would be for a strong America to take a principled stand in helping them to see the truth about their homosexuality -- just as someone did for me many years ago. Only then was I able to see the REAL dignity and value I had in God's sight," said Stephen.

SBM is a pro-family organization advocating for the traditional family, the protection of children and proclaiming the truth about homosexuality. Stephen Bennett often speaks on behalf of Concerned Women for America in Washington, DC and the American Family Association in Tupelo, MS. He writes commentary for WorldNetDaily.com and appears frequently on radio and television.

If judges insist on forcing their arbitrary will upon the people, the only alternative left to the people would be the constitutional process.

Carefully note the EXACT meaning if that sentence...

Even though uttered in the CONTEXT of preserving Marriage, it is at it's core a drive for JUDICIAL reform!!

The 11th Amendment to the Constitution reversed a decision of the Marshall Court involving States being sued by Citizens of other states, and "foreign entities" like Indian Tribes.
