Yeah this is standard SOP for the workers to stop if something was amiss. They did good. No doubt one dummy flying a desk wrote the tech data and the techs hauled up the BS flag. System worked as it should. Multiple safeguards in place to prevent accidents.

They did have one interesting area, though. To get in there, you had to sign paper that said, if you were detected doing something wrong, you would be given one minute to surrender and come out. After that, the SWAT team would enter the area and kill you, even if you tried (after the one minute) to surrender!

According to the story the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board does not agree. If the list in the article is correct these people have no business dealing with Nuclear weapons. These aren't mines and bombs they are dealing with.

Most of the nukes I worked on had so many safety features that I am not sure they would have worked if they wanted them to.

Remember the explosives inside an armor piercing high explosive shell such as explosive d the navy use to use in its shells would stand the shock of being fired and hitting the armor of another ship without going off. The nuke HE is less sensitive than that.

Its been a long time but it seems that we actually used tape to clean up chunks of explosive.

The are working with Nuclear Weapons this gives the the capability to kill quite a lot of people along with themselves.

An accidental detonation would be non-symmetrical. It would kill the people in the room, and maybe the adjacent rooms. It would make a small radioactive mess, and a gigantic political mess.

I worked for Wackenhut for a while and considered them a great joke. However a technician carrying explosives in his hands could be endangered by tripping over a sleeping guard.
