One thing Krauthammer doesn't touch on in his what do we do in a unipolar world article is: what happens if the "unipole" implodes. Given the erosion of the rule of law in America and what I would say is a marked acceleration of same this isn't all that farfetched, and it is complicated by the relative thiness of our military power. "Interesting times" ahead or business as usual--who the heck knows?

Here's what I think God's role for America in the world is; to demonstrate the absolute best humans can do on their own, and that it still comes up way short of what is needed.

Actually He touches on the future of the unipolar somewhat. The rise of China and the descent of Europe via demographics. He said it was for the young people in te audiance if of course we succeed in our current struggle.
