INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Eli Lilly and Co. has won federal approval to sell an injectable version of its top-selling anti-psychotic Zyprexa, giving doctors a new option to quickly calm agitated patients.

The Food and Drug Administration's approval of the new shot form of the eight-year-old drug is expected to supplement Zyprexa's tablet form, used for long-term treatment of schizophrenia and the manic stage of bipolar disorder. The faster-acting injectable version is designed for single or occasional uses in patients during episodes when they become agitated and in some cases violent.

I wonder if it works in dart guns. This would be very handy to have around the office.

I was thinking more along the lines of a managerial meeting at my plant.
Sometimes reminds me of the "monkey house" you used to find at some zoos.

Semi-automatic dart gun...

Semi-automatic dart gun...

Good idea. How about some kind of grenade that throws little flechette darts in all directions? Might be useful in meetings.

I'm proud to say that, I not only work for this company, I work on the Zyprexa Product Team.

Zyprexa has helped many millions worldwide integrate back into their families, their work, and society.

Before anyone flames me for working in "Big Pharma" go read a bit about schizophrenia and get back to me. If you still want to flame - don't bother. I won't read your kvetching.

The movie A beautiful Mind only scratches the surface of the devastation schizophrenia causes.

well those idiots that would flame you for being big pharma are idiots. The brillance of capitolism is that it uses mans worst charicter trait ( greed or self interest) as the engine to help mankind. Big pharma wants to make money. There would be no capitol investment to spend hundreds of millions on medication for the "betterment of mankind" Everyone should be very thankful for huge profits in pharma. Big profits leads to more searches for more drugs to sell.... that will save their worthless lives some day.

Information in capitalism is the great equalizer. Information about wage equality, labor worth, and commodity value including cost, is in the free market. When Government gives a pass or a roadblock, that's when the freemarket is supressed.

Protection of a free market is what is intended. When drug companies suppress side effects, they do so with the wink of the FDA. They are unholy alliances and should not exist.

Thanks for the support.

You would be amazed at the "conservatives" that would attack pharmaceutical companies for making money but have no problem with A-Rod making money (stick around and you'll see what I mean).

For the record, I don't watch sports much, but I don't give a damn if A-Rod makes 10 Mill an hour as long as the revenue he generates covers his salary. Simple economics.
