Posting refresher Ping

Inotice many of us post AP articles. I am clearly aware that if in doubt look at the help guides Jim and his admin. moderators have compiled to assist who can and cannot be posted on Free Republic.

It has taken me time to fine tune my posting skills and for the most part I get it right. I use the guides often.

Earlier today, someone posted the copyright tag line on one of my threads. Yes it was AP, but, it was in a Billings Montana paper. I checked it was allowed.

I sent a note to the moderators about the AP articles and, a nice reply arrived in my mail box.

In the end I posted the article correctly, but, it was still worth reading the guidelines. Espcially with the new members that have joined. So if you see someone struggleing remind them of these informative threads, that in the end it is a privilege to post on FR, to continue on in good faith, we should abide by their request. It isn't worth losing this privilege.

In all this, it seems clear that there is a major group of publications that will allow us to only publish extractions or in many cases not even that but rather only a link or reference.

In no case do I see anyone saying that you can't even reference the publication or article but many people here are reading into this as so.

Howdy, just wondering when I tried to post the NYT article a bit ago, it said I must excerpt. Mind shedding some light on this change or did an error occur when I tried to post? Just making sure to be aware of the rules here.
