Thirty-five years ago when his swift boat on patrol in Vietnam was under heavy fire from the shore, John Kerry turned his craft right into the fire, beached the boat, chased down the enemy, and killed him.

Now, any political consultant worth his retainer would say that for any candidate--much less a presidential candidate with a trial lawyer running-mate--to sue his opponents ... would magnify the impact of the charges made in the ads, ... and keep them in the news for the duration of the campaign.
It would also derail the campaign from its message, ... and open the candidate up to a possibly invasive subpoena.
All of this might happen, and are serious risks to consider. .

First, Medical Officer Lewis Letson states that: "I know John Kerry is lying about his first Purple Heart because I treated him for that injury." Letson offers no proof for his assertion, ...
Second, Gunner's Mate Van O'Dell says that: "John Kerry lied to get his Bronze Star. I know, I was there, I saw what happened." O'Dell did not serve on Kerry's boat, but was on another boat in his division. O'Dell claims to have witnessed the entire incident in which Kerry won his Bronze Star. ...Either O'Dell is right, and Rassman, Kerry, and the US Navy are wrong--or O'Dell has a big legal problem on his hands.

Letson has signed an affidavit with his testimony as to the events of that day. I bet if you examine his service record, he will be on record as having been assigned to that post as the only doctor at that hospital who could've seen the injury. I bet that if they examine the records for that facility and the recollections of the standing procedure, Letson's memories will be vetted.
Despite all the whining and spin from the left, this story will not die! I say a joyful Amen to that!

A lawyer friend--not a republican, but he's voting for Bush this time--sent along this list of questions he would ask if Kerry was put on the stand:
Q- So you lied about being in Cambodia in Christmas, right?
And you lied when you said Nixon was president, right?
And you lied when you said you and your crew committed atrocities, right?
In fact, you recommended your crew for medals and have never mentioned one atrocity committed by you or by your crew; never idenfied one set of facts; never obtained one corroboration of any such atrocities, right?
And you reported enemy small arms fire when you got your first purple heart, right?
And there was no report from any other person in the universe of any enemy small arms fire, right?
And small arms fire is rifle fire, right?
And your wound was a shrapnel wound, right?
And soldiers often got little wounds and scratches during combat, right?
Did you ever hear of any other soldier in the history of the world keeping a toothpick sized bit of shrapnel in his arm for an hour or so and go to the doctor for it?
But you did, didn't you?
And the doctor couldn't understand why you came to him, right?
And you put yourself in for a purple heart for that, right?
And your commanding officer told you to forget it, right?
And the only shrapnel from any weapon that night was from the M-79 which you fired because you could properly operate adn/or clean your M-16, right.
So that wound was obviously caused by your own M-79 and was thus self-inflicted, right?
And so you lied about that, right?
And you lied when you said you threw your medals over the wall, right?
And you lied,
And you lied, etc.
And you (Kerry) lied and lied.
A great list.
Which is why, of course, all this girlish blathering on Baer's part concerning "lawsuits" and suchlike is just so much inept misdirection.
Kerry will allow his full and complete military history to be dragged out into the bright, cleansing light of the day the same precise second any one of the alphabet networks allows Juanita Broaddrick the long overdue forum to plainly state her case versus a certain former Rapist-In-Chief.
Oh yeah. Betcha they are.
I would love to see the discovery process, when Kerry's VVAW "comrades" are contacted and questioned under oath about the various experiences they had with him.
