It's just that it would be so much harder on
Lori's family IF the Hackings take this to
court. If Mark, himself, had an ounce of
decency left in him, he would do the right
thing, by pleading guilty. Which he is,
guilty and he knows it. Why make the families
go through a trial that will end in a guilty
verdict anyway?

He's caused the Soares family tremendous pain--he's taken a beloved daughter and sister from them in the most horrible manner possible. He not only shot her to death as she slept (coward!), then the wrapped her up in garbage bags and threw her in the dumpster. He was saying, "She's garbage." This has to be devastating to the family. They know what he was saying about their Lori.

The trial is just heaping more on them. If the hacking family really wants to help, yes, prayer is wonderful, but do something concrete: pull the plug on the high-dollar attorney and tell Mark he's on his own unless he does the right thing.
