THE ANTI-WAR TURN IS A LOSER
BY DICK MORRIS
September 23, 2004 -- STUNG by criticism that his campaign lacks direction and focus, Sen. John Kerry has chosen to base his candidacy on an all-out assault on President Bush's record in Iraq indeed, opted to move to the left decisively and attack the war head-on. Liberals will cheer Kerry's new-found decisiveness, but it opens the way for Bush to deal him a counterstroke that can all but end this election and finish off Kerry for good.
Kerry's right flank is now gapingly vulnerable to a Bush attack. According to Scott Rasmussen's tracking polls, 30 to 40 percent of Kerry's voters disagree with his new leftward tilt on Iraq.
That is, even as the Democrat condemned the war in Iraq as a "diversion" from the central mission of the war on terror, a large minority of his own voters disagrees and sees it as "integral" to the battle to respond to 9/11.
Kerry has moved to the left, leaving about one-third of his vote behind. Bush can now move in and peel off Kerry's moderate supporters.
U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan has opened the door for this new Bush offensive by declaring the invasion of Iraq "illegal" and equating the deadly terror raids by Iraqi guerillas with the embarrassing but hardly lethal sexual humiliation of Iraqi prisoners by the U.S. military. With those incendiary claims put into play, it is now legitimate for Bush to attack the secretary-general and ask his opponent to take a stand for or against Annan's remarks.

It could work. We need to be diligent and GET OUT THE VOTE!
It ain't over till the bald head guy has a trash can on his head.
If Kerry keeps this up for very long...let's just say it is not going to help other DemocRAT candidates.
Kerry still has to court his leftist base, so they wo't run to Nader.
As soon as I saw Kerry tack sharply to the left of Howard Dean, I knew he had given up on moderates and swing voters and was simply trying to fire up his hardcore base to the maximum.

POINT #1.
If this was posted already, it must have been earlier today. I just logged in and I appreciated seeing the article. Some of you FREEPERS need to lighten up. If there is a "repeat" post, it won't cause your computer to crash. Some of us are not privileged to sit at a p.c. online all day memorizing every post that comes along.
POINT #2. Some people confuse the "Activism/Chapters" thing with the fact that this is the Activism Post area; not GOP Club, Personal Bloggers, etc.
Cut us some slack.
Sure. But just remember to up your contribution to FR when the next quarterly campaign rolls around.
Server space is not free.
Using your logic, someone should post the same article every five minutes so it stays in Latest Posts.
Some of you FREEPERS need to lighten up.
Well, then I suggest you talk to JimRob and the moderators about changing the posting guidelines. Having multiple threads for the same column fragments commentary and clutters up the forum. If you want to see something posted earlier in the day, click on "Threads" and you can browse earlier posts.

And that's why I said what I said there.
That has a nice ring to it. 'Bout sick of that freak.
This is the next to last chapter in the Communist Manifesto part deaux.
The MSM has come out and attacked the President in collusion with the Socialist faction of the Democrat party. party. The card carrying commie from the great state of Taxechusetts has finally shown his hand. To him this is 1971 all over again, with him lecturing the country as to what is best for us. Global elitists and Socialist regimes have backed the candidate that will best represent their interests in a new world order run by the United Nations. Koffi Anan validated this on Tuesday in his admonishment of the United States before the world body.
Radical Islam has been designated as the instrument of the UN to finally attempt to take down Democracy. Clinton brought us to this point. Gore would have finished the job. To think, if Tennessee decided that their good ole boy was really like them, this would have been a reality.
Oil for food was the funding needed to undertake this task. Billions were siphoned off to pay for global terrorism, corruption and favors. Contracts negotiated, people killed by the hundres of thousands to forward this agenda.
Human rights groups, animal rights groups, environmental groups, anti war groups, all fronts to prevent Democracy from flourishing throughout the world.
Well, Bush changed all of this. Taking down Saddam, going after the terrorists, breaking up the oil for food scandal has changed the rules of the game. The question is, on November 3, when we wake up to find out that Bush is still in office, will we have the intestinal fortitude to see this for what it really is and finally go after the countries that have conspired to end Democracy?
Follow the money.
When Kerry flipped on his war/anti war stance again this week I knew he was toast.
Morris has it right.
those of us that participated in the original thread last night are more than mildly annoyed that there are now multiple threads to have to keep up with. If it was important enough for me to post to, it is important enough to me to keep it undiluted. I thought this was a tactically important article, and if the undisciplined among us originate new threads about it at will, then the whole value and meaning of the thing is largely lost.
rules of etiquette, in other words, exist for a reason.
"Kerry still has to court his leftist base, so they wo't run to Nader."
Kerry was losing his leftist base states, the polling was showing. Maine, NJ, NY especially, shouldn't have been moving to toss-up at all. His anti-war tone will help keep these states but he'll lose the moderates and swing voters by his nastiness e.g the so-called 'security Moms'.
We have Kerry in the spin cycle. Time to throw him in the dryer and finish him off.
