Duplicity of Rather, Burkett, Hailey, et al trying to “prove” that the CBS memos are valid (Vanity)
Oct 4, 2004 | Diddley

Posted on 10/04/2004 9:45:53 PM PDT by Diddley

In order for the memos to be “valid”, Killian would have had to:

1) Reject perfectly good, regular typewriters that were available to his unit and in general, that typed all other documents at the time.

2) Make extraordinary efforts to get equipment that – it is virtually certain – weren’t commonly available at that time.

3) Want to create (and thought about creating) 6 documents that were totally different from any others at the time.

4) Make documents that were different from any other then-contemporary documents.

5) Go through extreme Rube Goldberg contortions to make the documents (which even after being made wouldn’t agree 100% with the documents that we see today).

6) Type incorrect information factually (Staudt, etc) and procedurally (giving an order by memo [which “orders” were not given by a commander, but by medical personnel].)

6) Sign some but not all of the 6 documents.

7) Sign with a signature different from any other documents signed by him during that period.

8) Include the name of another officer (Bath) with the same “offense” in one memo, but no other memos that pertained to Bath were in the “file”.

9) Been very sloppy or do something intentionally, such as a space between 111 and th.

Rather, Burkett, Hailey and others are going through contortions to “prove” that the documents “could have been done …” for obviously and demonstrated fake documents.

TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: 60minutes; burkett; cbsmemo; memogate; rather; ratherliar
That Killian would have written (or had someone type) these 6 documents is absurd.
He would have had to have gone to extreme measures for 6 document only.
He would have had to ignore certain styles.
He would have had to insert false information.
He would have had to have gone counter to accepted practices, and done totally incomprehensible things.

That Rather, et al would expect us to believe them about these certain fakes indicates that they are disturbed.

Good, Keeping busy on this farce lessens their ability to do damage elsewhere....

Still, in the end, it's obvious that the forgeries are forgeries because they exhibit signs of "kerning".

This capability simply did not exist in 1972 on any typewriter.

Did not exist.

It's different than "proportional spacing".

Those are among many other points that show that the documents are fake.

That they would try to prove a small point (the superscript th, for example,) just shows how gullible and ignorant they thing most people are.

Not a bad thought.

As long as you have one reason to prove they are not legitimate, that's all you need.

Dan Rather may not like it, but kerning wasn't available in those days ~ not even to him!

It's actually even worse and even more unlikely than you have shown, for even if Killian had been able to do all these things mentioned, there is still a ZERO chance that Killian or ANYONE, back in 1972, typing on a then existing machine, even with great effort and precision could precisely match a document format not to be in existence for another fifteen years - through sheer coincidence and dumb luck.

The chance of that happening is indistinguishable from the chance that a chimpanzee could sit down in front of a typewriter and compose a limerick - and not just any limerick - this PRECISE limerick:

CBS replaced Cronkite with Rather
With Cronkite's blessing, I gather.
But as Danny grew older
His indiscretions grew bolder
And his words became nothing but blather

i.e. vanishingly small. ZERO. Ergo, the documents are recent computer generated fabrications.

Case closed hard.

I completely agree with you.

I was just listing some major categories that would have to be overlooked for Rather, et al to think that they could bamboozle us with the help of the MSM.

When are the results of the "investigation" coming out...It makes me SICK that Rather is still allowed to stay on the air. Did all of you see him last night..I am sick of the MSM just quoting the Newsweek poll like it is gospel. They can never say anything pro-Bush
