BTW, is anyone else peeved by the "contribute to Free Republic" headers that brag about zotting and the Viking Kitties? I find that the only truly "controversial," "troubling" and "disturbing" thing around here. Silencing people is a cowardly thing to boast about.

No, it's not controversial, troubling, or disturbing. This is a *conservative* news site, and posts (especially hit-and-run trolls) have no place here.

Imagine if, on a forum about the Gibson Les Paul guitar, I posted barely readable, obscenity-laced screeds on how wonderful the Fender Stratocaster is, and how everyone who plays a Les Paul is eeeeeeeeeeeevil. The moderators of that forum would be completely within their rights to pull my post, or to allow it to stay up for other members to lambast. It's no different.

If you want to engage in cross-the-aisle debate, then there are forums for that. This isn't one of them.

So you maintain that only "barely readable, obscenity-laced screeds" lead to banning? Sorry but inventing straw-man attacks on others is one more form of cowardice.

Unbunch your panties, there, airborne. I was referring to the usual trollish behavior of posting "barely readable, obscenity laced screeds." Others have been banned for a myriad of other things, however, we were specifically talking about trolls posts being left up for ZOT.

Yes, *we* were. Allow me to post your original comment:

That certainly sounds like you're speaking about troll posts to me. If not, you've my apologies.

I then replied that I did not think banning troll posts was stifling free speech. You talking about troll posts (like I said, apologies if you had something different in mind) and me talking about troll posts kinda adds up to "we" talking about troll posts. :)

Let's get our information correct, BEFORE we post it, OK???

Governor Huckabee has been asked by The FRee Republic to perform at The FRee Republic Inaugural Ball. I doubt if President Bush was briefed on the matter.

If you have a problem with the selection, tell The FRee Republic, and don't blame the President!!

The FR ball is a private party. What does that have to do with Bush?

"What does that have to do with Bush?"

Rumors abound in Washington & in Ark that huckabee is being groomed for some national position in the Bush whitehouse.

The huckster is NOT a conservative unless you compare him to hillary maybe --- but then 90% of our "conservative representatives" would be called flaming liberals 30 years ago!

NPR, the controversial leftist publicly-supported radio station, is free to say what it wants.
