Before my hard drive crashed and I got a free installation at Comp USA already loaded with XP SP2 I used Drudge to check all the other stuff I had installed to protect from ads, spy progs, virii, etc.

Now I just use Google pop-up blocker; almost never get a pop-up.

Still don't trust Grudge, though.

I just removed drudge from my favorites and quit going there. Ever.

Yeah, that's the ticket!

Drudge has to make money, that is his means of surviving. Unless ofcourse those of you that complain about the pop ups would rather support the website by donating to it.

Better yet, why dont some of the complainers start a new website, work 12 hours a day on it for FREE, no income whatsoever...

I swept with ad-aware and spybot, which are two different spy ware eliminators easily available for free download on the Internet. Of course once you remove them they will just come back to you the next time. So before you remove them jot down there names (it will show you on the programs). And then go to your Internet explorer task bar and click on tools, then Internet options, then security tab restricted and then sites and put them in there so your system will not download them. I did that and it worked like a charm. There are 4 of them that keep coming up when you go to his site. I don't recall the name of two of them, but the other two are tribalfusion.com and doubleclick.net or .com.

My fix is even easier:
I just don't go to the Drudgery Report, ever.

I remember when Drudge used to have a link to freerepublic. He dropped it without giving a reason. Maybe he doesn't like to reveal his sources? Anyway, he treats us like crap, who needs his hollywood gossip.

I know an easier way. I just don't go to Drudge at all. After one time when one of the ads on that site tried to download a spyware program (caught by adaware) I took Drudge off my list altogether. I won't return until the site stops doing this nonsense.

I recommend that action to everyone.

That's not all that's happened with Drudge's site, at least in my case. I use to have his site as my "homepage, but after awhile I noticed that wherever else I was on the Internet, without any warning at all, I'd find myself off the site I was visiting and back on Drudge. This also would happen when I was in OE. I'd be writing an email, and if I had IE opened I'd suddenly find myself back on Drudge in the middle of composing an email. Really weird! Never did find out how that was happening.

I now have FreeRepublic as my "homepage" and haven't had an ounce of trouble since.
