I had no idea where to put this, so this is where it landed. I keep going with 'your opinion' until I got here. So, if it is in the wrong place, I apologize...
What is up with this Ward Churchill guy and why hasn't someone REALLY SHUT HIM UP YET? I understand Freedom of Speech, but COME ON!!
I was watching 'Talking Points' tonight with Bill O'Reilly, and he was speaking with Michael Faughnan, whose brother was killed in the 9/11 attacks ( which I know you all already know). What I want to know is why was he not fired after his original essay, and what is up with the University of Hawaii for giving this guy a FREE VACATION AND THREE STANDING OVATIONS?
I did some digging into this guy today, after a post regarding 9/11 and the medical examiners final report - I cannot believe Churchill is still walking around! And I thought Michael Moore was a threat? This guy's 15 minutes of fame better be up soon - because I wonder if he is thinking about the MAJORITY MOVEMENT in this country? Apparently NOT.
The election in November CLEARLY showed that the MAJORITY of this COUNTRY considers themselves to be conservative Republicans, and even some (pardon the curse words) 'liberal Democrats' are relatively Patriotic. However, the problem seems to be that the MINORITY thinks they are the MAJORITY, and THEY are the only ones entitled to an opinion!!
I say we need to send email after email after email - flood the Universities with mail - and let them know first of all, they are turning the future generation into uncaring, pathetic America Haters, AND the MAJORITY has only been kind so far but the law suites will soon begin to fly if things do not change!
If this man was speaking out against Homosexuals, Gay marriage, or bashing ANY religion (other than Christianity - we are at the top of the hate list), He would have been silenced and fired the first go around.
In MY OPINION - it is time to STAND UP AND SHUT THIS GUY UP!!! Find out who backs him, and boycott, write letters, do whatever it takes! And, if The University of Hawaii is a publically funded institution, shouldn't there be an angle there? Like, why are tax dollars being paid to a man committing hate crimes?
Okay - I have to go take a valium. I am SO UPSET I CANNOT SEE STRAIGHT! I think at the Oscars this weekend, we need to include a sign telling Churchill to "SHUT UP-PERIOD!"

This guy doesn't shut up because the MSM, including 'ol Bill, give him a pulpit, a soapbox, to draw attetnion to himself and themselves. It's all about ratings and viewership. Kill your TV. The "new media" would take care of this A-hole if he didn't get so much MSM coverage. My guess is he's laughing all the way to the bank.

If Kalifornia is the left coast, Hawaii is the ultra leftout coast. The UH appearence of imposter Ward Churchill was sponsored by the numerous left wing organisations, principally the likes of Hawaiian activist Mililani Trask and other communist faculty members. They defended Churchill under the guise of "free speech" though a comment in a local paper from someone who attended the session noted that Churchill said very little about free speech but talked at length about himself. The UH at Manoa has become a cesspool of liberal propaganda especially by activist Hawaiians who want the US to take care of them for the rest of their lives because they are incapable of caring for themselves. The Hawaiian activists have proven that years of pandering by politicians, including our current Republican governor, will only lead to more pandering, more appeasement money and more political buyouts.
I'll believe Churchill's appearence is about free speech when the same groups invite David Horowitz to speak and vigorously defend his right to say what he wants to say.
Bill put on a good show tonight. Ward Churchill is of the same grade as Turd Ball (Ted Rall), both of whom need to be flushed.
Why shut him up? He's the best advertising the radical Left could ever imagine.

I'm in Waikiki right now and the local news coverage was REALLY funny. The anchors did the typical stand-up report and then the footage--OMG, such a tight shot of the 'group' listening to this clown. (There must have been all of four students/supporters and a few reporters.)
I've overheard many conversations re: Churchill--all negative, cabbies included. Glad common sense is not dead.
Lorianne, I know you are right, in the fact that this only proves HOW FAR OFF BASE these guys are - but it sickens me to know there are people in this country with the same freedoms I have, using those freedoms to hurt others!
I know if you grant a 'right' to one citizen, it shall be granted to all - but A line should be drawn somewhere.
To speak out and give an opinion - no matter how ridiculous it is - is one of our freedoms, but to do it in such a hateful manner and then be applauded for it?
I believe I am more naive' than I thought. I knew there were some very twisted people in this world. However, to speak out and continue to hurt people whose lives have been devastated already? That makes no sense anywhere.
The only comfort I draw from these kind of people is knowing HE WILL BE JUDGED in the end - not by us, or the government, or the law of any land - but by God ALL Mighty Himself. That is who he will ulitmately answer to. Then vengence will be taken. That's the only consolation I can find.
