Where is America Going?
CFP ^ | March 25, 2005 | J.B. Williams

A short 229 years ago, our founding fathers declared our independence as a free sovereign nation and established a set of moral principles that would become the foundation for the greatest nation on earth. Those basic moral principles began with a belief that all men were Created equal, endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable Rights.

The first of those basic Rights established was a common inalienable Right to Life, followed by an individual Right to personal Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. In their clear determination to design a truly free self-governed nation, they placed their trust in God and these fundamental Rights.

Yet for almost 40 years now, we have failed as a nation to uphold that first fundamental Right to Life in the womb and today we stand witness as not a single judge or court in this land will take a stand to protect this fundamental Right of an innocent life outside the womb.

Today these judges and courts stand in defense of assisted death. They blame their actions on man made laws, always found inadequate in the delivery of true justice, which is why the founders established this country on the basis of inalienable God given Rights instead of man made laws.

Today’s justice system operates under the false pretence that we are only a nation of laws rather than a nation of moral principles. Yet justice is not defined as the interpretation of mans laws, but the delivery of just resolution, the determination of what is right based on codes and standards of moral righteousness. . . . .

America is about to unwind. The pendulum is going to swing so far so fast that we will wonder if this nation can survive.

when the people realize that the courts can do what they please with anyone's life on mere hearsay, they will rise up with vengeance.

Of course, courts have been doing this for ages. But it is hereby exposed without a possibility of doubt, this abuse of power in all its wanton arrogance.

No one -- no one who can speak for himself, that is -- will accept an adverse court ruling again, whether he is guilty or not, until credibility is re-established. That could take generations.

Brace yourselves, sports fans. The rule of law has passed.

The issue is who decides. Her husband or some judge or some politician?

In the true sense of the word Terri doesn't have a husband. He abandoned her 10 years ago when he shacked up with Jodi Centzone and they had 2 kids. I find it odd that no attention is paid to Centzone. There should be more questioning as to how much influence has she had on MS's actions but she is sheltered as though she plays no part at all in this tragedy.

Mr. Edwards, I have read the complete article printed in the CNP and must agree 100% with its content. Now, the question is, "How do we change it back to what our founding fathers intended"
I have taken notice of a FR march on Washibgton for April 9th. From what I read in FR the march is to demonstrate how we as a nation feel about this Judicial Dictatorship we all live under. Well, so be it, BUT,
I can tell everyone that the only thing that can make a politican do anything is to threaten his existance at the Ballot Box. Republicans, Democrats and Independents know and understand this. I would propose that FR withdraw its support and votes to those whoever is in power and fail to use that power as as the people would like, and that WE the People have given them. I know that a lot of FREEPERS will disagree, but in my 72 years of life, Withdrawel of support is the only thing a politican understands. Thank you for the article

Laws result from two things: morals and money.

When people talk about laws and morals they seem to think they're two different things. Not so. When morals are made into laws, something can happen to you if you don't accept the morals.

The issue is whose morals, or whose money? Plus, whose morals will interpret those already on the books?

while not news, it is well put and a great editorial!
thanks for posting it.

one might add (in the flavor of Rabbi Art Katz) that it is "sloppy sentimentality" that will get us killed. First because it is not predicated on holy righteousness, but man's emotional perversions/distortions of truth. Secondly, we can look to repeated historical examples and derive the logical outcome of twisted thought processes.

We are being propelled into a Euro-style socialist state, and the forces moving us there are irreversible. The people can resist by electing a Republican congress, president, governors, etc. And yet the trend conrinues. Why?

The answer is that once you get a certain percentage of people drinking the elixir of government dependency, democratic processes are powerless in stopping the advance of socialism and, eventually, communism and its inevitable collapse.

In teaching business, I often point to one of the big flaws in strategic planning. A firm adopts a strategy that dictates it take on debt. After that, the debt dictates the strategy. That's where we are as a country right now. As much as we'd like to reverse the situation, our debts dictate our strategy, and so long as the debt-ridden get to decide what to do next, the "solution" will always be more debt and dependency.

As Marx well understood, God is the biggest obstacle because Christianity teaches that each individual has self-worth. That simply won't do in a society that is one step away from confiscating every 401K and allocating out the cash based on some government formula based on the prescription: "to each according to his need."

Where is America going? Into the third-world gutter as long as we keep importing the third-world.
