Rush Limbaugh: 2005 Cure-A-Thon Raises over $1 Million, Two Listeners Offer to Match Rush's 300K

I know a number of you would like to have an update on our Cure-A-Thon last Friday. We set a record. You people came through. I cannot thank you enough. We set an all-time record. Just as of the close of business on Sunday, the whole weekend, we raised a grand total of over a million dollars, a million sixty-two thousand dollars in three hours on Friday. If you add up the total time in those three hours that we were talking about our Cure-A-Thon, we maybe totaled an hour of the three. You folks are amazing out there, simply amazing.

Some of you are also wondering, did anybody take me up on my offer? By the way, that million dollars does not include my contribution. That's just you people out there, doesn't include mine. (coughing) Excuse me, I don't know, I've got a cold or something today, do I sound stuffed up today a little bit? I sound stuffed up to me but you can't use the way I sound to myself as a gauge because I'm deaf, but anyway, we have two people, two different people that have stepped up and have matched my contribution in exchange for my offer of sending an airplane out to get them, bring 'em back here, spend the day here at EIB, and go to dinner. One outfit is from Rancho Santa Fe, California, a man and wife and then there are two women, and I don't know, they're in London right now. They were listening on the Internet. They're Americans, and they have expressed interest in this, too. They're both being vetted right now.

So we may have had two people that matched this. If that holds up, then we may end up with another 900 grand to throw into the kitty, which would put us right at two million dollars for a single day. I will keep you posted on this, ladies and gentlemen, as the news is warranted and as the news is made.

I'm still upset that my wife said we couldn't afford it right now.

Ping!

Thanks for posting- great news. So proud of El Rushbo for the work he has done to cure these diseases.

I might also point out that Rush raised this money the day after Howard Dean (a medical doctor) took a cheap shot at Rush and his past addiction to prescription meds.

Oh dear...I was about to put in my $300,000 donation, but I'm too late it seems. Too bad. Next time.

Ditto!

I haven't been able to listen recently and I had been wondering when the campaign would be. I called this evening and asked them to bill me for my traditional donation. (Not enough for the jet.)

I don't listen to this show. What exactly is the disease that is being cured?

If they do mention it, it will just be an excuse to revisit Rush's past drug problems and possibly the money laundering sham.

That's because it doesn't fit the stereotype that conservatives are mean and scroogelike.

Only liberals are warm and fuzzy.

There is something else you can do-other than donate money. You can become a Pheresis donor. Pheresis is the process whereby your white cells are "harvested" for lukemia patients and others undergoing Chemotherapy. You are hooked up to a machine, your blood is taken out, the white cells are seperated, and the rest of your blood is returned (interestingly enough through the same needle while it is being removed). The whole process take about two hours. It is well worth the feeling of satifaction you get for taking the time and making the effort. I try to go once a month and donate. Most blood banks or the Red Cross (at some of their centers can do it). Please think about it-Pheresis donors are desperately needed.

Another good cause:

http://www.RickRescorla.com

Mrs. SUSAN RESCORLA honored her 911 Lifesaving Hero husband RICK RESCORLA in a stunning Radio Interview that aired April 16, 2005 on Southern California's KTIE Radio Show titled:

'Modern Day Heroes - Social
Weapons'

http://www.SocialWeapons.com

See 'Show Archives'- April 16, 2005

...to hear SUSAN chillingly tell us all to prepare for the next big terrorist attack, which IS coming she says, instead of finding blame for mistakes naturally made during the last one at the World Trade Center.

You can just hear her late husband RICK RESCORLA, who was murdered at Tower 2 on 9/11/01 after his saving 1,000's of lives there, talking right thru her. Positively riviting Radio.

...What great RUSH LIMBAUGH Radio Interview material this would be..?

Hey Rush! Why is it that you can never mention illegal immigration and George W. Bush in the same breath?

You were a Conservative. Now you're just a party hack.

I listen every day and I have heard Rush talk about illegal immigration and the fact that GWB needs to do better. In fact he just mentioned it last week.

It's obvious that you do not listen to his show very often.
