What an arrogant SOB.

Who? Lott or Pickering?

They DID throw him overboard, but he obviously is nursing a petty grudge rather than thinking about the best interests of the country, and therefore should not hold such a position of power.

Lott should be sent to pasture. He just does not know how lucky he is to still be in Congress.

"they're the same ones who threw me overboard. I'm free. I don't have to work with them anymore."

In other words, if Trent Lott decides to derail judicial nominations that could restore respect for the Constitution, he'll be doing that out of a vindictive unpricinpled desire for revenge. Dysfunctional? Look in the mirror.

I can't believe he said that! Without rehashing the whole Thurmond party incident, Lott certainly didn't show much political skill there, although I thought he was unfairly tarred and feathered by the MSM. He might have been thickheaded but not bigoted.

But to be so publicly peevish and whining, that's inexcusable. Putting his hurt feelings above what's good for the counrty!

Clearly the Senator holds his own personal ambition in higher regard than the service of the people who elected him.

The Spineless One is upset because the GOP didn't support HIM?? Wow!!

Pot, meet kettle!

(To be fair, he was abandoned when he should have been supported by his colleagues in the Senate, but . . .)

Lott is the one who CREATED the disfunction when as majority leader he refused to lead.

Exactly. The reason we are living this hell on earth today is because of one person, trying to be chummy: Trent Lott.

Power sharing!!!! Don't ever forget!

I understand. I am probably the only guy on FR who once tried to type an A with his nose because I was trying to hold a BLT together.

He's right about being thrown overboard. All he did was try to make an old man feel good on his birthday, and We Republicans chunked him for it. Having said that though, he needs to get over it cause the demokkkrats are the enemy, and if he dont get in line, he can be thrown overboard without a lifejacket when his election day comes.

I just can't agree. The Republicans did not help him because he was an ineffective leader. While that was not the issue that got him tossed from leadership, I don't think that they would have let an effective leader go without a fight. Plus Lott didn't help himself in that controversy either IIRC.

He's a traitor. An honest traitor, but a traitor nonetheless.

I hope that my colleagues in the great state of Mississippi are preparing the tar and feathers as we speak.

Oh, and while they're at it, would they please rip off that bloody annoying toupee of his?

Regards, Ivan

Agreed. I hope his constituents are taking note.

Well, I guess he doesn't care that much about the current BRAC and those military installations in Mississippi after all.

Maybe this is his way of getting HIS way on the BRAC. He now has made himself a bargaining chip.
