You tell 'em :o)

i have a feeling that a President George Allen would do a LOT more to stop illegal immigration than what we have now.

Bravo. *clap-clap-clap*

Thank you for putting the finger on something that has been bothering Me about some of these threads for some time now. I agree with you wholeheartedly.

They figure we have nowhere to go. /Evidently, they've forgotten about Ross Perot and what his candidacy did for Bill Clinton.

That's not the answer. Identify the specific RINO'S and defeat them in the primaries. If we can't beat them in the primaries then look at staying home.

I was not writing strictly about immigration and the thread doesn't either. It is also about the judicial issue and the reluctance for the GOP to see that many of us who voted for the GOP are eager to see the course of activist judicial activities reversed. How can it work for the GOP if they take a stand. Well, your premise of the GOP hanging onto all of the GOP votes presumes that the GOP is responsive to the base. In the past two elections that has not been an issue because the GOP voters would have voted for anybody with an R after his name as we did for GWB but think that might change. I and many conservatives think the GOP is playing us for fools by making nice with the left and left wing issues such as amnesty and money for African AIDS and the like, assuming many conservatives will still vote GOP next time. I think they are whistling past the grave.

To answer your question directly, I think the policy that enforces the law would not redirect away Democrat voters. That is all I and many ask.

California has been a sh-thole since the end of WWII.

Statements like this really pi$$ me off. What are we supposed to do, just abandon it to the invasion because you don't like it? I think Ronald Reagan would disagree with your assessment.

I don't think the cradle of religious cults, Hollyweird and the Gay Rights and pro-abort movements became that way after WWII because of immigration. Its just that the children of immigrants (Hispanic AND Asian) have joined forces with the socially liberal whites to dominate the state, and the square defense industry workers in SoCal are no longer there as a counterbalance.

I have come to the conclusion that all god things come in their own time.

Review please the current events. The primary, that is the most important political action is the confirmation of judges. That process is slowly but surely grinding to a successful conclusion

When it is over, there will be Rat energy and blood and guts all over the corridors of power. It will be a seminal event because it will be obvious to all that the Rats have no power. They have been defeated and the winds of change have increased from a zepher to a gale.

The issue of the borders will be addressed when the storm has passed and the Rats have become more docile and fearful of their very political lives. Under those circumstances, much can be accomplished. There can be bipartisen legislation supported by the powerful pubbies and the simpering Rat moderates.

I was not writing strictly about immigration and the thread doesn't either.

I was when you addressed me. The main article is pretty immigration-specific, too.

My point is that the issue only cuts one way: against the Republicans. So whenever I see a "conservative" draw a line in the sand over immigration, I'm suspicious. 'Nuff said.

Le ZOTTE: My very IMPORTANT opinion on tonight's debate. VERY IMPORTANT BREAKING NEWS VANITY! MAYO

Posted on 09/30/2004 11:56:49 PM EDT by Jim Robinson

NO ONE ELSE THOUGHT OF THIS SO IT DESERVES A THREAD OF ITS OWN!

I think each and every poster on FR should post a new thread stating his opinion on the debate. This way, instead of having only a few threads with hundreds of posts each (ie, discussion threads), we will have hundreds of threads, each with two comments. One the important opinion, and two, the complaint about vanity posts.

OK, you make a good point. But my issue with what you said is that tarring the entie state as a sh_thole because of religious cults, hollywood, and gay rights does a real disservice to the good conservatives who live here and are watching their "American Dreams" go down the toilet.

Religious cults are not a major threat to this country. I agree with you that Hollywood is out of control, as is the gay rights movement. But c'mon, you can't blame all of California for those elements.

Illegal immigration has truly turned this state into a sh_thole, and you are correct that the newcomers are used as tools of the manipulators. But to just cast aspersions toward California as if to say "good riddens" is not constructive; indeed it's *destructive* with regard to trying to fix the problems. We are all in this together- we should hang together or we will hang separately, imo.

If a thread like this, discussing an issue of truly national importance crowds out a thread of the Scott Peterson/Michael Jackson ilk, I'm all for it.

This is a VANITY; it's suppose to be labled as such and it belongs in Bloggers & Personal; those are the rules, even though some people don't think they apply to them.

Vanities and General Interest.

Your Opinion/Questions - All non-sourced non-news threads are posted here. This doesn’t mean your one thought is a thread by itself. Lately, we have been seeing articles posted that should be comments made on the main article. Your comment/vanity article will be pulled or moved to General Interest. Vanities should be limited to the mission of Free Republic.

General interest (Chat)

– Is for discussions of news and interest topics unrelated to the news forum. We will move articles unrelated to the news forum here.
