Sorry if I've put this in the wrong topics. I didn't consider it breaking news, since it was from yesterday's Hardball show, but I hadn't had time to post it until now, and I've only started one or two threads in the past.

Anyway....if anyone saw this interview, I just have to say that Chris Matthews, once again, proves what a complete and utter moron he is. I like and respect Billy Graham (aside from his comments supportive of the Clintons), but 90,000 is the biggest religious crowd Matthews has seen?!? Was he in a coma during Pope John Paul II's funeral? For that matter, never saw any of his numerous appearances in the U.S. where hundreds of thousands turned out, or the World Youth Day appearances he made. Or perhaps he never considered these people a "religious" crowd. I guess these huge crowds just didn't have anything else to do, so they showed up to see the Pope out of curiousity.

Also, I thought it interesting to see how Matthews somehow missed out how Pope John Paul II was so incredibly holy and prayerful, that he could even ask Billy Graham if he thought the Pope had accepted Jesus. Please. If John Paul's love of Christ wasn't most evident in his words and actions, I don't know what was. I think Graham put Matthews in his place, though, to his great credit. Then Matthews completes his performance as an imbecile by acting surprised that Graham had such great respect and admiration for the Pope, and looks forward to seeing him in heaven. What a boob.

Matthews is an East Coast cradle Catholic, unless I'm much mistaken. As such, he may suffer from the very outdated belief that older Southern evangelicals like Graham don't regard Catholics as Christians.

He does make a fool of himself at times, but I don't know that there was necessarily an intent to embarrass Graham.

What's the deal? Billy Graham was on Hardball? He wasn't invited to the Bush-Clinton lovefest in Maine? It's a shame. He would've fit right in.

Bush. Clinton. Graham. Three families I no longer listen to.

"MATTHEWS: Really? Do you think you‘ll meet him in heaven?" What part of "by faith are ye saved, not by works" does Chrissy NOT understand? Catholicism does teach this correct?

At least he gets paid to do it. What's your excuse for watching?
