Hillary's Media Spinners Deny Bill's Impeachment

Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro's announcement yesterday that she intends to challenge Hillary Clinton for her Senate seat has already sent Mrs. Clinton's media spinners into overdrive - with at least one news outlet claiming that her husband was never impeached.

After recycling the old news that Pirro's hubby Albert was convicted of tax fraud and had fathered an out-of-wedlock child, the New York Daily News insisted that Bill Clinton was "nearly impeached for lying about his relationships with Paula Jones and Monica Lewinsky."

Nice try. On December 19, 1998, Mr. Clinton became the first elected president in U.S. history to be impeached. [Impeached President Andrew Johnson wasn't elected - a fact that matters in a process that otherwise involves the House "overturning the will of the people."]

And since the Clinton co-presidency was sold as a "buy one, get one free" deal - the taint of impeachment tarnishes Hillary as well.

Each time the press insists on re-airing Mr. Pirro's dirty laundry, Jeanine Pirro's campaign should waste no time in treating the public to a little impeachment history lesson.

That re-writing of history was fast. Can't wait for more of the same.

Most Democrats/Liberals are too ignorant and stupid to know the meaning of the word "impeached".

Remind them that "the sole power of impeachment lies with the House of Representatives", there is no acquital. The Senate merely does the sentencing.

Not sure that was intentional. I think most people really don't understand what impeached means.

This is definitely "popcorn time" material. Hillary already INTO THE BIG LIE --- with her minions spinning and lying with WHOPPERS like Billy never being impeached. What level of human beings do they think they are addressing with their twisted reality??? The next thing we will hear is that Billy was a faithful husband, and that Hitlery wasn't fooling around with Vince Foster....

*** IT IS WHOPPER TIME ***

"Most Democrats/Liberals are too ignorant and stupid to know the meaning of the word "impeached""

Naturally, since everybody kept saying the charges didn't rise to the level of impeachment when he had already been impeached.

"Rise to the level of removal from office" would be more appropriate.

Hillary's spinners are saying Bill was NEARLY impeached?

Which part of impeached don't they get? I know that voters have short memories, but not that short. LOL

My kids were taught in school that Clinton wasn't impeached as well. My daughter said he didn't get removed so the teachers said he wasn't impeached. I went ballistic and my wife had to restrain me as I was about to drive to the teachers house but clearer heads prevailed and I never went to jail.

Seriously though, I truly believe that most people believe that Nixon was impeached and Clinton wasn't. It would be interesting to do a poll on this but I think the outcome is exactly what the commie bastards in the press would have us believe.

LOL.

It was either the History Channel or the Discovery Channel that did a show on the people who think the moon landing never happened either.

Anyone have a good authoritative website that clearly shows he was impeached, even if not removed? Somethings we can pass on to those who don't understand what happened....something from a .gov website, for example?

Clinton Calls Impeachment Battle 'Badge of Honor'

Here's the original version of Slick's apologia..."The American people owe me a lot for beating impeachment..LOok, if I'd a been kicked out, then Gore would have been re-elected in 2000 as a sitting president, by a landslide, and then where the hell would we all be after 9/11..Up the creek without a paddle..can you imagine that crazy, loony, SOB in charge of the country?

...called his fight against impeachment a "badge of honor"

Trying to parse and spin, Bill? You WERE impeached. You make sound as if you fought and did not get impeached. Sorry, Bill. You qualify as the first elected President to be IMPEACHED. You may call it a badge of honor; history won't be so kind once all your cronies are buried.

[Andrew Johnson also has the distinction of being impeached; except that he was serving out Lincoln's term, so he wasn't 'elected' President.]

Yep, Bill, even the liberal BBC concurs:

Clinton impeached

A historic day in the House:

William Jefferson Clinton has become only the second president in the history of the United States to be impeached.

Seems there's confusion within these responses. Perhaps it would be easier to remember if one likens:

House impeachment = criminal indictment
Senate hearing = criminal trial

So yes. Bill Clinton was certainly impeached.

Of course one has to remember that though Rep Henry Hyde and the other House manangers did their duty...the Senate Republicans (led by the spineless Bob Dole) did not do theirs. Not by any stretch of the imagination did Bob Dole allow any evidence be brought forth regarding the Articles of Impeachment.

Need I say more about the totally disregarded areas of China (illegal missle technology transfgers; illegal campaign funds) illegal use of FBI files/IRS resources that were not even consider in the House Articles of Impeachment.

It's pretty obviosu this isn't spinning, it's simply a reporter or writer who doesn't know what the word means.
