HOUSTON - Wednesday evening, a frail, silent Peggy Jourdan huddled around a table in a tent outside the Houston Astrodome with five other Hurricane Katrina evacuees. All listened intently while social worker Rita Adair described the furnished apartments, jobs and new friends waiting for her and her two grown daughters in Madison.

"He was wearing an Old Navy baseball cap, a green T-shirt, and khaki shorts. All the clothes he wore when the hurricane hit were ruined.
"I looked like I was on Gilligan's Island by the time I got to the Superdome," he said.
The Astrodome was a big improvement over the Superdome in New Orleans, Black said, because an order of sorts had been established. The doors close at 11 p.m. and stay shut until 5:30 a.m. Food and beverages are handed out more liberally - they'd received water and food rations just twice daily in New Orleans."

I found that last comment interesting because until I read that, all reports coming from the Superdome were that no food or water was available there...

OMG - it really is an RRP (Racist Republican Plot)! These folks are from New Orleans - they will FREEZE to death in WI! Republicans surely know this - just like they knew the levies would break - just trying to kill all the black folk! /sarcasm
The New Orleans evacuees should get dumped in (or lured to by welfare, handouts, etc.) a "blue state" so that the electoral college breakdown is not effected. Ideally, the evacuees should end up someplace hopeless, like California.
