It appears someone got a little carried away with the keyword list?

Seriously, it would be wonderful if the current regime went down without a shot fired from an American soldier. It appears that could happen, then when Iran tumbles, wonder who's next.

Okay, the natives are restless, but what is needed is serious financial backing that would allow all of the merchants to go on strike. This is one of the ways that was used to topple the Shah.

When I was on a TDY at Keesler AFB, back in the jurassic era, I ran into a group of Iranian military types, who were going through our Air Force training schools, and we all hung around together for a week or so. One of these guys was a man called, (and I spell this only from the phonetic memory of 30 years ago), a Mr. Shams Meide [pron. meh' i' dee']. He held the rank of 1st Homofar, which he explained was a technical rank equivalent to somewhere in between our noncommissioned officers and our warrant officers.

Perhaps you would know- whatever happened to those Iranian military, who were unfortunate enough to have sought additional training from the Great Satan, after the fall of the Shah? I would like to think that Mr. Shams fared well, though he and his friends seemed very nervous in 1975. Just for the heck of it- what would you guess his chances were?

Perhaps these men left Iran after the Shah fell. I used to live next door to a former Iranian general who took his family and left.

When I see mullahs and lesser "ministers" of the Islamofacist "religion" lying in the gutters, mutilated; hung from trees or immolated while "students" dance around the trampled Islamofacist state flag......then I'll think they're serious about freedom.

Until then, just some more kids blowing off steam.

Yeah this is much ado about nothing. Every now and then there will rumors of students rebelling but nothing will come of it. Who knows if it's really even happening.

"..Perhaps these men left Iran after the Shah fell. I used to live next door to a former Iranian general who took his family and left..."

Alas, at his pay grade, he wouldn't have had a hundreth the resources available to the general. But I thank you for the thought. Somewhere... his family should be well, and he should have gotten as fat and grey as I, watching them!
