Will state hit brakes on illegals driver's licenses? (MD)
The Washington Times ^ | 11-17-05 | TOM KNOTT

The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration is not awarding driver's licenses to illegal aliens in a timely fashion, according to a government-funded advocacy group that has filed a lawsuit in Baltimore Circuit Court. This is as it should be in a state that has rolled out a welcome mat to the illegal aliens streaming across the Rio Grande. Maryland is one of the favored destinations of illegal aliens because the state aims to show its pronounced level of multiculturalism. All this is symptomatic of a nation that has lost its way, of politicians who lack the spine to enforce our laws, of the loony left who traffic in their smug superiority. Maryland's MVA is not being fair to illegal aliens, says CASA of Maryland. Worse, the agency is not as Spanish-friendly as it should be, according to CASA. The hope here is that Maryland eventually gets with the illegal-alien program and adopts Spanish as its official language. This is the fitting destiny of the X-rated Cucumber State, where politicians and law enforcement agencies ignore the fundamental laws to the peril of everyone. The city should have an interest in the upside-down goings-on of Maryland, if only because the District remains one of Osama bin Laden's go-to targets. Our open-border policy is not just a drain on our resources. It is a threat to our national security. We only can imagine how Washington will respond to a terrorist attack. And there will be an attack, which then will motivate the gasbags on Capitol Hill to form committees and ask questions and blah, blah, blah.

The government is completely out of control at both the federal and state levels. The lunatics and their lawyers run the asylum. We live in negativeland. Outright marxist/socialist Democrats and empty-suit out-of-touch Republicans run the show. The US is just a host for multinational corporations and the paid shills in Washington that do their bidding. If a viable third party doesn't emerge soon that isn't beholden to the usual suspects, I believe we are toast as a free nation.

What is wrong with Maryland?

I am sure there are many figuring out ways around it, but it was a royal pain in the neck trying to get a Virginia Driver's license when we moved here 2 years ago. The name on my social security card did not match my name on my Delaware driver's license and so I was unable to transfer the license until I changed my SS card.........I just never got arund to it after I got married. so even though the name on my Delaware DL and marriage certificate, which is also proof that I was born in the USA, no dice without the SScard.

I read a different angle on this problem in the newspaper today. An hispanic (probably illegal) man was run down and killed by a Saudi national,(I think it happened in Massachusetts). The Saudi was drunk. (.12 alcohol level) and speeding at the time of the accident, and was carrying false ID. The guy he hit was knocked 150 ft. from the scene and died instantly. Long story short, the wealthy Saudi was convicted and sentenced to ONLY ONE YEAR, and he got to select the jail of his choice, which turned out to be in a wealthy town on a resort island off of Cape Cod, (Martha's Vineyard, I believe).

It's amazing the amount of 'justice' wealth can purchase in America, even if you're a foreignor convicted of perpetrating four crimes at once, (vehicular homicide, drunk driving, speeding, carrying false ID).

Hmm, the only problems i had with getting the VA license was on their website they said it costs 7(?) bucks a year for a license and fail to mention that you have to at least get a 5(?) year license. So after an hour of waiting in line I let them know I wanted a one year license at 7 bucks. They laughed at me and I told them I was going to bill them for the hour of my life they wasted, and I would wait until my Texas license expired. Long story short (too late!) i had to bend over and get a VA one so i could vote in the last presidential election.

"Our gov't takes our money and sells us down the river."

Clinton sold us out on the transfer of technology to China. Jorge Bush sells us out to Vicente Fox on immigration. The only difference in Bush and Clinton is the sexual perversion. Bush is just as big a sellout as Clinton.

I don't remember what I paid for my license, but it doesn't expire until 2010 and it was issued in 2003.

It was just a royal hassle, because I must have made 3 different trips and it's 25 miles away. Even my husband had to go back a second time because he is a "Jr" and they demanded his birth certificate.....fortunately we had an official copy and we didn't have to wait to get a copy from the state of birth.

Well shut my mouth and ____ me running. Where do I send my most heartfelt apologies to the illegal aliens of Maryland?
