"Geena Davis has really put on the lbs."

I just saw that from a clip on FNC. And from breitbart.com:

Among TV winners, Geena Davis, who was named best actress in a drama series for playing the first female U.S. president in "Commander In Chief," offered audiences one of the award show's lighter moments...

When she collected her trophy onstage, Davis noted a young girl had tugged at her dress before the program and told her that "Commander In Chief" inspired her to be president.

As the crowed sighed, Davis smiled. "Well, that didn't actually happen," she said. "But it could have. ... And were that to be the case, then all of this would be worth it."

They don't call hollywood "la la land" for nothing.

I know this because I'm a parent. I know this because I did read the school textbooks and went to the teachers about them only to be told I was the only parent to do this. I know this because I was a volunteer bus driver for a religious school and I could tell the middle school kids had a thorough knowledge of the shows on MTV.

Wake up. There was a thread recently on FR that large majorities of high schoolers support gay marriage. If you don't know the MSM is against proper values and take measures to block that stuff, you are a useful idiot.

""Did anyone outside Hollyweird bother watching last night?"

What do people expect from a community that ostracized people a decade ago for not wearing AIDS red ribbons at the Oscars?

'24' was great! Only thing wrong is the president for that show is dumber than a box of rocks...and now the rocks are insulted!

Varda,

You are right on.

Anyone who thinks this isn't affecting the little ones is in for a surprise.

Protecting our children today REQUIRES a certain amount of intellectual editing by the PARENTS.

That's our job.

You have some good points. As much as a Hollywood is trying to force it down our throats. The biggest weapon we have is our wallets. As of now, the 3 gay movies aren't doing so well financially.

A fantastic film.

Parents need a wake up call on "homosexualization". I think too many parents want to simply trust the schools, other parents and media aimed at kids. Reagan was right, trust but verify.

You're right about Hollywood but their audience has been set up for them by previous parents who let the larger culture and schools instill values in their kids.

BTW Brokeback Mountain has more than doubled its production budget at the box office. That makes it a financially successful film.

You are so right, the agenda has come home to me. It sits in the desk next to mine and it screams harassment every time someone attempts to get it off of its cell phone. Management is apparently petrified by the threat.

I skipped the Golden Globes last night and I'll skip the Oscars. I don't want to celebrate the gay agenda pushed on us by the Tinseltown effetes.

Management is apparently petrified by the threat.

A homosexual man at my place of employment was fired for "Deliberate Malpractice," specifically, falsifying product documentation. Since the product in question was material which was destined to become nuclear fuel rods, it was covered by Federal regulations and could have been prosecuted as a felony.

However... against all expectations he was later reinstated. I heard afterward that the subject's testimony of post-termination "chest pains due to anxiety" had some influence on the appeal board's decision.

The guy's still around, and still whining.

It depends on marketing costs which can run up to $40 million. Since Brokeback has gotten so much free publicitiy, I doubt marketing costs are that high. Overall, the movie will turn a profit, but not be a blockbuster.

Syriana still has only made $44, while costing $50 after 7 weeks. Munich only made $32 while costing $70 after 4 weeks. Those two will likely lose a bunch of money.

So America might see a gay movie, but still rejects anti-American, pro-Palestinian movies....which is nice.

Whorelywood is totally irrelevant. On top of this the globes awards gave the best foreign film to a propaganda trash promoting martydom by moslems against our civilization. Read that as cowardly terrorist attacks against innocent women, elderly and children.

You mean that there was something on last night besides 24?

My wife was watching the "Golden Globes", so I caught a couple of the awards and presenters. I thought that Dennis Quaid made the most telling comment of the evening. He said that "Brokeback Mountain" was a type of movie that "rhymed with 'chick flick'". It fell flat on the Hollywood audience, but the truth hurts.
