Homegrown terrorist Jeffrey Leon Battle considered America the land of the kaffirs, or unbelievers, and the American people pigs.
He once lamented to an acquaintancewho happened to be a government informantthat the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks did not sufficiently damage the U.S. economy.
This is the land of the enemy, he said of his own country in a May 8, 2002, conversation secretly recorded by the government. He explained to a friend how his burning desire to become an Islamic martyr had inspired his aborted quest to join forces with al Qaeda in Afghanistan, where he could kill American troops.
Battle, now 35, is serving an 18-year prison sentence for conspiring to wage war against the United States, a crime to which he confessed and pleaded guilty. But members of Congress who are stalling on renewing the Patriot Act and attacking President Bush for ordering the National Security Agency to intercept al Qaeda-linked communications in and out of the United States could learn something from studying the activities and communications of the Portland Seven terrorist cell that Battle and others began forming in Oregon in the months beforethats right, beforethe Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Bad guys get locked up...
Even if we could prove he'd saved Western Civilization...
it would still be Bush's fault!
I could live with that! ;^)
The Democrats hope and pray on a daily basis that we will get attacked again. Nothing would please them more than to see busses bombed, the body parts of innocent and helpless men, women , and children flying through the air.
Always remember that to the Democrat the United States and its citizens are the enemy. The Democrat's friend is whoever is trying to destroy the United States at any particular time. Once it was the communits. Now it is the followers of the pervert.
Grab your ankles for Allah, Mr. Battle.
When the execrable Don Imus was interviewing the reprehensible Chris Dodd (Sen., Dem, CT) this morning he did get off a good line. He asked the senator whether what the democrats want to do with the Patriot Act is really turn parts of it into a Terrorist Bill of Rights?
If President Bush could make the dead arise and walk the Dems would want him arrested for practicing medicine without a license.
What's so sad about this is that we taxpayers have to pay to keep this piece of excrement alive. Hopefully one of his boyfriends in prison will do us a favor.
I guess IMUS still has rare moments of lucidity.
What a crew.
I would bet that Bernie or Charles gave him that line...but he did deliver it. But, Dodd dodged the question blathering on about "proper oversight."
Ah yes! Bernie or Charles. I like Bernie the best. I TIVO'd one of his Cardinal Egan stints. It's hilarious and nasty. He really slammed Hitlery.
Good mornin' and God bless...
How sweet of you to say that to me!
Good morning and God bless to you too!
COLD here and rain due any minute.
Jail's too good for the bastard. Put him against a wall with a target over his heart. No blindfold.
