"But Senator," the veteran newsman protested, "ah - I mean - didn't - didn't - shouldn't [the hunting accident] have been made public but for no other reason than the administration and the vice president's own good? I mean, one can understand that he clearly was not thinking straight. Who would, after thinking they'd killed their best friend?" What an absolute fool Schieffer is, Cheney knew Whittington was fine, his medical staff was treating him within seconds. It was an ACCIDENT. Why doesn't Schieffer call Ted Kennedy in an ask him these same questions?

I mean, one can understand that he clearly was not thinking straight. Who would, after thinking they'd killed their best friend?" I see Schieffer is doing his best to move the story to the next plateau.
And why doesn't he know that Whittington is NOT Cheney's 'best friend?'

It's incredible that he said that, just incredible. I said before I thought the dems were imploding, but maybe it's actually the MSM. The democrats really haven't been the ones blowing this out of all proportion.

Shouldn't have Dan Rather admitted that he was a partician hack using a partician hack to try to rob Bush or re-election by using easily verifiable forged documents? I mean when a blogger in pajamas can out investigate 60 Minutes, don't you think theres a news credibility problem?

Despite their continued whining; the MSM is not one of the branches of government. The only reason to cooperate with the press to insure balanced coverage of events. Since the current press is a partisan mouth piece for the opposition, there is no up side to cooperating with them. This could become an object lesson for the MSM if they could only grasp the concept of reporting about the news.

But wait. All of this silly, silly, coverage is backfiring. The MSM is continuing to commit suicide. They apparently have no idea how bad they look.
While this is not a scientific survey I'm running into lots of people, not all of whom are Republicans, who thing the MSM has come unglued.
What's beginning to be clear to even casual followers of politics is that the MSM are trying to do the Democrats work for them BECASUE THEY ARE DEMOCRATS too.

shouldn't [the hunting accident] have been made public but for no other reason than the administration and the vice president's own good? How was the shooting not made public, Bobette - you sniveling, self-righteous prick? Were the appropriate local law enforcement officials not notified?
Beyond that, what requirement of public notification is there in this circumstance?

Scheiffer at least needs to put his teeth in before he goes on the air.

Schieffer's been a Democrat Party waterboy his entire career. I can't understand why anyone is surprised by his behavior now. I put "Face the Nation" on my "Don't Watch" list long ago and knew what kind of anchor he'd be. He's right out of the ultra-liberal See B.S. mold.

What good would it have done? I'm sure that a man recovering from being shot in the face doesn't need to be hounded by the MSM, nor does a grieving man. So, Mr.Schieffer what good would it have done?
The only good would be for the Republican haters. They would have got an extra day to manipulate a hunting accident for political gain.

And how long was it, and under what circumstances, that Clinton finally admitted what he'd done with an intern? And how long did it take Al Gore to speak publicly about his son being arrested for DUI? (I think drugs were involved, also.)

I mean, one can understand that he clearly was not thinking straight. You're wrong, Bobby. Mr. Cheney was thinking very clearly. He knew it was far more important to get emergency first aid to his friend and make sure he was taken immediately to the hospital than it was to make sure the media met them at the Emergency Room entrance.
Oh, and, you're a Dimocrat shill masquerading as a news anchor, Bobby.

Actually, I think we need to just drop the Kennedy reference from this accident, because it was an accident. Kennedy's wreck may have been an accident, but he left someone to die. Cheney did not. It does not begin to compare.

The MSM has to do its best to keep the story going. The "Bush Lied" chant is fading away and they have nothing new to report. Also, they need to have something as an excuse to ignore the "cartoon wars"...they can't insult their allies, the muslims.
