Strange bedfellows indeed. But then again I suppose they have the same goal - the destruction of America as we know it (or used to know it).

ACLU and CAIR: Peas in a Pod.

And in other news from CAIR:

CAIR-CAN Welcomes Apology for Offensive ‘Jesus’ Cartoon

CAIR-CAN Welcomes Apology for Offensive ‘Jesus’ Cartoon

(OTTAWA, CANADA - 07/03/06) - The Canadian Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CAN) welcomes the apology from the Saskatoon Sheaf newspaper after it published an offensive cartoon about Jesus.

The Sheaf, a student-run newspaper at the University of Saskatchewan, issued an apology on Monday for publishing the cartoon. The newspaper had previously decided not to print offensive cartoons about the Prophet Muhammad.

In a statement released today, CAIR-CAN said:

"It is deeply saddening that a newspaper that respectfully refrained from publishing offensive cartoons on the Prophet Muhammad (peace be with him) instead resorted to publishing cartoons about another revered religious figure.

"In Islam, Jesus (peace be with him) is considered to be a Prophet of God, like Muhammad, and he is held in high-esteem by Muslims. As a figure of religious significance in both Christianity and Islam, we stand with Christians in denouncing this offensive depiction of Jesus.

"While Canadian Muslims value freedom of expression, we recognize that the rights and freedoms we enjoy in Canada come with responsibilities that include distinguishing between meaningful debate and hateful or insulting comments.

"We are dismayed that the Sheaf departed from its previous stance on such offensive material, however we welcome its apology and hope that it will refrain from publishing such disrespectful material in the future."

Protect civil liberties? Oh come on! Not if you happen to be Christian. I can't wait to see what kind of havoc this muslim is going to try to bring in to play in Florida and knowing ACLU, every where in the nation.

This is another technique for the muslims to take over the nation. People keep your eyes open!

Not strange at all, and you are right. They both have the destruction of this country in mind.

“American Muslims view the protection of civil liberties as one of the most important issues facing our nation today,”

Now that is a good one. Nice track record.

Saudi Arabia - Conversion by a Muslim to another religion is punishable by death. Bibles are illegal. Churches are illegal.

Yemen - Bans proselytizing by non-Muslims and forbids conversions. The Government does not allow the building of new non-Muslim places of worship.

Kuwait - Registration and licensing of religious groups. Members of religions not sanctioned in the Koran may not build places of worship. Prohibits organized religious education for religions other than Islam.

Egypt - Islam is the official state religion and primary source of legislation. Accordingly, religious practices that conflict with Islamic law are prohibited. Muslims may face legal problems if they convert to another faith. Requires non-Muslims to obtain what is now a presidential decree to build a place of worship.

Algeria - The law prohibits public assembly for purposes of practicing a faith other than Islam. Non-Islamic proselytizing is illegal, and the Government restricts the importation of non-Islamic literature for distribution.

Jordan - Has the death penalty for any Muslim selling land to a Jew.

Sudan - Conversion by a Muslim to another religion is punishable by death.

Pakistan - Conversion by a Muslim to another religion is punishable by death. Bans proselytizing by non-Muslims. Christians regularly put in prison for charges of blasphemy.

Malaysia - Every baby born is automatically Muslim and it is illegal to ever change religion.

Qatar - Islamic instruction is compulsory in public schools. The government regulats the publication, importation, and distribution of non-Islamic religious literature. The government continues to prohibit proselytizing of Muslims by non-Muslims.

“By working with the ACLU in Florida, I hope to strengthen constitutional rights..." - Ahmed

Oh really? Then he would be at odds with the publicly stated stance of CAIR's co-found, Omar Ahmad:

"Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faiths, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."  - Omar Ahmad

Well we already know what the ACLU stands for. No surprise. These communist, anti-American scum are the most dangerous group in America, and now they just became even more dangerous.

If I remember correctly, some WaPo poll was posted last night which said 46% of Americans have a problem with Islam and I think it was FReeper GSlob who correctly asked what is wrong with the other 54%.

No, it's unfortunately not surprising.

But it is interesting to note the Islamists growing interest in Florida among our fair states.

This one story got my attention: The Islamist Port of Miami.

CAIR is directly tied to the Holy Land Foundation, whose members were arrested for funding overseas terrorism. Also, at least one board member of CAIR was also arrested for funding terrorism.

This is a terrorist organization, pure and simple.
