I disagree. I think a RINO is worse than a Dem. With a RINO, conservatives are being fooled into voting to support someone that they THINK will support conservative values.
At least with a Dem, you KNOW that they will NOT support conservative values.
RINOs translate into GOP committee chairmanships and committee majorities, which makes a huge difference. If you are the GOP, you definitely prefer RINOs to DEMs. Unfortunately, if you prefer GOP leadership to DEM leadership, then you MUST prefer RINOs over DEMs.

When we put up a RINO, it gives the liberals two shots to win the seat. The worst part of that is that at least one of them is using our resources to advance the leftist agenda.
