WMDs still in Iraq?
THe American Thinker ^ | 6-04-06 | Doug Hanson
Ping!
As John Howard once said, there were no road signs with WMD written on them. It is my understanding that Iraq had, amongst other things, anthrax. Note the recent London raids where the authorities were concerned that terrorist suspects were planning to use bombs to disperse cyanide. Although it turned out they did not have cyanide, the consequences of a bomb dispersing cyanide are too horrific to contemplate.
Thanks for the ping Diogenesis.

Good point!
I read an interview a few months ago in Frontpage Mag (I think) with this gentleman. He said that the southern part of Iraq was never searched--that the Iraqi Survey Group believed that the WMD would only be found in the Northern part of Iraq as that is how it was previously. He said that they only did flyover searches, and that this stuff has been buried underground and chained down in the river.
He also said the most alarming thing, and that was that by the time the Administration sees this kind of intel it is so politically scrubbed that it is barely recognizable. I will see if I can find the link and post it.
Gaubatz: My sources confirm much of the information that is stated by the individual who claims to be "General Al-Tikriti", but they are suspicious of anyone they can't see or can't hear in their natural voice. Arabic is such a distinctive language that native Arabic speakers can tell a lot about the person by the words, tone, and mannerisms displayed during the conversation. There is little doubt Saddam had WMDs and that the Russians were involved in hiding them and possibly also removing them.
I feel Mr. Loftus, Mr. Mauro, myself, and many others realize WMDs were/are in Iraq, but to convince others is difficult. This silhouette will not do it (again I am not a disbeliever). During the last two months I have had conversations with Congressman Curt Weldon, Congressman Pete Hoekstra, their staff, and even arranged to have three of the original Iraqi sources brought to the Congressmen's office for debriefings (ref:) This still hasn't resulted in suspected WMD sites from being searched in Iraq.
Based on my extensive conversations with the Congressmen and their staff, they are afraid that if they searched the suspected sites in Iraq that I identified, and the WMD has been removed by terrorists, it would destroy the upcoming elections for the Republican Party. If it was done three years ago (as I tried to get done), we would all know. Now politics is involved. We have a tough fight ahead.

See post #30.
Also this quote from a previous thread (italics mine):
I have provided detailed information to Congressman Pete Hoekstra and Congressman Curt Weldon. The 15 plus pages of detailed information I provided to them leaves no doubt accurate and verifiable intelligence was obtained about WMD in southern Iraq. I not only provided them names, addresses, and phone numbers of Iraqis who can confirm the WMDs, but also the Russian and Iranian involvement. The latest information was provided to Congressman Weldon during the period 16 Mar 2006, through 4 Apr 2006. I spent several days assisting them in converting military grid coordinates into longitude and latitude, which would put them within one meter of the sites.
FP: Do you feel President Bush and Congress were provided accurate intelligence before, during, and after the war?
Gaubatz: The most accurate intelligence is what is initially obtained by ground intelligence officers. The intelligence myself and other Agents obtained on the ground never reached our President or Congress. The intelligence they eventually received was so diluted and politically scrubbed, that it was often far from the original intelligence we received.

Well, I don't think this would paint a positive picture of the Dems either since they have been saying that there NEVER was WMD--which one has to wonder how they get away with saying something so obviously untrue, but I digress.
Anyway, go scout the sites regardless. This country has to get its head out of the sand. If we don't face this enemy head-on, we are doomed. Look at what is going on in Canada and Britain. Our media is putting their fingers in their ears doing the la-la-la song, and they should be front and center on this. Politics, schmolitics. Find the doggone WMD! Sheeeesh.
I'm not buying this. Someone, somewhere is not telling the truth, exaggerating, or hiding something.
Bumpity bump.
And bump to you, neighbor.

I asked Domenici's staffer why Weldon does not get a hearing. I was taken aback when the staffer flippantly suggested Weldon was "running for something or out for an award"--
Ye gods and little fishes, this is national security, not Beltway Follies.
I am asking Bill Gertz, but first found him exposing this screaming scandal in our own dinosaur DOD:
Pentagon ousts official who tied Russia, Iraq arms
You read this cannibalistic crap wherein our own bureaucratic martinets eat the messenger and you wonder how have we survived to date and how will we survive past the next North American Islamofascist WMD Workshop and Prayer Meeting.
Is this a War on Terrorism, George, or is this all hat and no discernible cerebrum?
Yep. And I've been saying that on here for a couple of years now.
I can't say much more than that. At least not until I'm gone from Iraq for good.
