Thousands of Shiites prepare to ravel for Hezbollah in Baghdad

BAGHDAD - Several thousands of Iraqi Shiites started to gather Friday in Baghdad where a demonstration of support for the party Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah, in conflict with Israel, must take place after the prayer of midday, a journalist of AFP noted.

Several hundreds of bus and cars filled Shiites come from all the country have converged for Thursday with Sadr city, the district Shiite disinherited of the North-East of Baghdad.

Holding up Iraqi flags and of Hezbollah, the young militants Shiites, of which some had covered a white shroud to post their determination to die as a martyr, answered the call of Moqtada Sadr, Iraqi radical the Shiite chief.

Militiamans vêtus of black excavated all the demonstrators, of fear of an attack, while the Iraqi police force and the army remained with the variation.

"We are here to testify to our support for Hassan Nasrallah (chief of Hezbollah, note) and for the people of Lebanon. It is necessary to put a term at the Israeli attacks, even if it is at the price of our life ", ensured Mahmoud Fadahawi.

"Our slogans denounce America, which does not do anything to improve the situation and lets the Israelis kill the inhabitants of Lebanon", this 40 year old Shiite come from the west of Baghdad added.

Ali Diniwayi is him come from Kout, to 175 km in the south of Baghdad.

"We came in a convoy from 10 buses, to take part in this peaceful gathering and to associate to us the victorious war that today Hassan Nasrallah carries out to Lebanon", it explained.

The American army reinforced the safety measures around Sadr city, a bastion of Moqtada Sadr and its militia, the army of Mehdi.

The tension is all the more high as a short armed confrontation opposed Thursday afternoon of the militants of Moqtada Sadr and the American soldiers.

"the Americans shot at not armed demonstrators who went from Najaf to Baghdad to take part in the gathering in support for Hezbollah, making a death and 16 wounded", Sahib Al-Ameri, general manager of the Foundation for the martyrs of God ensured, near to Moqtada Sadr.

According to the American army, the soldiers opened fire after a tower of guet was the target of shootings coming from a van, on the road between Najaf, the Holy City Shiite, and Baghdad, close to Mahmoudiyah, to 30 km in the south of the Iraqi capital.

"They shot at our soldiers, we made only counteract in self-defence", indicated the commander Steve Stover, spokesman of multinational division in Baghdad, specifying that "two terrorists" had been killed.

The militia of Moqtada Sadr had in particular faced the American soldiers in 2004 with Najaf and Sadr city.

In about an hour. Around 2 p.m. We're eight hours ahead of EST.

There is a real frickin' irony to us being in one country protecting the largely Shiite population while all countries with large Shiite populations (i.e. Iraq, Iran and Syria) show support for people firing missiles into cities trying to hit civilian targets.

Not that it changes our mission, but its got to be irritating to the troops on some level.

Time to show the Iraqis who keeps the peace. Pull Coalition Forces north into Kudistan and south into Kuwait. Then let the Sunni/Shiite love fest begin. Neither side has the self-control to resist an opportunity that would allow the settling of grievances going back a thousand years (it's a succession war - Mohammed died without a succession plan).

If Iran or Syria attempt to intervene...that's what American air power is for.

And please, let's not have anyone acting surprised that the Israeli/Hisbollah fights are really part of this. How blind can you be?

Drawing Syria and Iran openly into the fray only makes plain what is already occurring surreptitiosly. This is a clash of civilizations.

The Islamics want to drag us back into their 7th century culture because the other outcome - that they join the 21st century global economy - is not possible. Aside from oil, what can they offer? We won't be importing Saudi made cars or Iranian made microwave ovens anytime soon.

Their brigand culture spawned a violent religion and stifled their cultural growth. It requires that we stomp them the same way we stomped the German Nazis and Japanese Imperialists, crushing their ablility to make war, and forcing them to remake their culture from the ashes of defeat.

If anyone has a better suggestion. I await your reply.

Why, I'm posting from the Ali Baba Internet Cafe in Sadr City right now! You were supposed to meet me at Ferdoz Square for the rally. Where are you? It's about to start and I can't hold this great spot I got for us much longer!

;-)

>>I just type Baghdad time in Google when I want to know what Allegra's time is. It's easier than math!<<

That's a good trick, thanks.

BTW, I just learned another google trick

Fuzzy Search - Search for ~music player, and google searches for music player, mp3 player, audio player, and other words that have similar meanings to music

I've been trying to figure out how to make google tell me what it considers synonymns - for example, searching for liberal returns 271 million hits while ~liberal returns 796 million.
