Thank goodness Ernesto petered out. I am getting tired of hurricanes.

Now that is funny.

I'm darn tired of this heat, too.

What...?...what's that you said?.....

Oh, yea. I live in the desert.

:)

Darn, I was hoping to see Shepard Smith chained to a light pole when the hurricane hit yelling about how President Bush failed Florida.

Now, he'll just do that for the sheer pleasure of it.

Dashel is deeply saddened that the democrats cannot accuse the Bush administration of global warming that caused the hurricane in the first place and of the gross incompetence of the GWB's handling of the aftermath of the hurricane that never happened. It is truly a sad situation for all liberals do to the fact that this wasn't a major disaster.
When the good Lord gives us a break in the inclement weather, it truly is a sad, sad occasion for all the liberals that prayed for a disaster for their fellow men so they could blame the Conservatives. Any amount of suffering should be endured for the good of the leftists.

Yes! That canoe scene should live in infamy! Idiocy!

I'm happy just knowing that we don't have to see those reporters, trying to be so da*n macho, bending into the wind, while telling us how bad it is. When I see those theatrics I just want to see them blown away!

Altahama Sound in Georgia

It's always amusing to hear non-local announcers mangle "Altahama..." like they did the spelling-

Altamaha is correct- see map here:

-scroll down a bit-- ( look to the Left of the City of Darien )

We call it all- tah'-maw-haw primarily, although some locals pronounce it as al- tam'- a- haw, but it's always a two-sound burst with emphasis on the second syllable-- the rest is usually a mush-mouthed mutter... you know how us backward Southerners are- between the bad teeth, corn likker, and chasing our sisters, we don't have much energy left for correct enunciation...

For what it's worth, here is the latest wind-strength map I found in the blogosphere:

http://gulfcoastwx.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=518&start=150&sid=57e765479ae5f616a477cf797a5b6461

Still on track! Watches have now been posted along the east coast. Here's the 5pm Advisory:

"lamestream media"

Them and all the other leftist wackos who wish for disaster. Since this is supposedly the hottest year in the history of the planet, according to all the enviro-wackos, who claim hotter weather creates more hurricanes, this should have been a record year for giant, people-killing, city-wrecking hurricanes. We might still get a few, but it hasn't happened yet, and time is running out. The wackos were desperately hoping that Ernesto would be huge and kill thousands of people while destroying most of the east coast. What a great group of humanity-lovers.(smirk)

Watching the Weather Channel last night, they had a guy down in the Keys with a slicker on and the hood drawn tight around his face and talking up the dangers of wind and flood waters just as two teenagers come wandering by behind him to do a quick pose for the cameras shirtless and in shorts. Made the reporter look pretty foolish...
