Stewart's three decades of distinguished work for indigent clients should speak louder than a single serious mistake.
It sounds like they're saying she knew what she did was wrong. (Do lawyers like her make "mistakes" like this? I don't think so.)

She should be a very haggard Hag when she gets out. In fact, put Medea Benjamin in the cell with her for the $600,000 she gave to the Iraqi Insurgents.

Ends justifies 'means' for Liberals; they should all be forewarned by Stewart receiving a long. . .if not 'healthy' sentencing. . .

She was convicted a year and a half ago and still hasn't been sentenced? What's the holdup? The key to her cell should just be thrown away. She's an anti-American traitor and should never be freed.

"Her lawyers argued in July that Stewart should receive no prison time. They said a
harsh sentence would frighten other
skilled lawyers from representing notorious clients and that Stewart's three decades of
distinguished work for indigent clients should speak louder than
a single serious mistake."
That's a winner.
Any competent judge would say,
"That's irrelevant.
"This trial is to address your client's 'mistake.' [LOL]
"Address that OR SIT DOWN."

I'd like to see an exception made in her case. She needs to share a cell with Sheik Omar. And she wont even have to turn the lights out.

Once in a while, one gets a ray of good news...30 years! I doubt that she'll get it, but I'm impressed that they asked for it.
She knew perfectly well that what she was doing was wrong. She did things like cover for her co-conspirator - (the interpreter) - while he received messages in Arabic from the sheik - by making comments about innocuous, nonsense things like chocolates, etc., to confuse listeners and prevent them from being aware of what was really being discussed. It was not only not a mistake, it was planned.
