When your liberal clergyman spins his Democrat sales pitch into his sermons or Bible studies, walk out. No conservative should cower in submission as liberals campaign for Democrats who have no clue as to the meaning of leading a disciplined Christian life. They should not get away with it.

This was the Dem's big plan, concocted after the '04 pounding we gave them (thanks to the religious right). We knew about it all along...pathetic. I smelt the stank of it comming when I saw my first "Proud member of the religious left" bumper sticker, over a year ago, co-inciding with the first MSM focus pieces on "liberal religious".

Wait 'till the 08 DNC convention, where they'll reference GOD like never before. It'g gonna look so fake, I can't wait for it. The media is going to desperately try to keep their claims bouyant.

...leaders to argue education, poverty and the environment are all evangelical issues.

While I will concede that these are three important issues they do not have the weight of abortion

Nor is the Socialist position on these, the Christian position.

Liberal Evangelical = Somebody who found a verse or two in the bible they think will help them justify pacifism, socialism, racism, anti-semitism, rape, sodomy, drug abuse, thievery, etc.

A couple of questions. Evangelicals are supposed to spread the Gospel. What gospel are these folks spreading? Do they talk about a personal relationship with Christ? Do they believe he died and was resurrected. Do they believe He is God.

Why Red Letter? Is the purpose of this so that they can ignore everything in the Bible except the Sermon on the Mount? I suspect they are especially uncomfortable with Paul and Revelations and much of the non-Gospel new testament. I wonder if they regard the red letters in Revelations as counting? But they would have to ignore a lot of John's Gospel also and the entire old testament too. I guess since Jesus wasn't there at Pentacost, the whole Holy Spirit thing is out the window also?

You have to understand the liberal mind...

Any issue that they don't poll well on is "unimportant" to them...

Ah, they did this all in the 80's. Pax Christi, Bread for the World, Witness for Peace, etc., etc., all calling for a nuclear freeze, singing Castro's praises, and calling Reagan dangerous. Nothing new here.

Ask them if Jesus is the sole path to Heaven and they will all fold.

I seek spiritual guidance from my Pastor........not from politicians....from either side.

I got this in email today from them. (I keep tabs on their doings, I can't stand their idiocy). Notice you can't see the voter guide until AFTER you donate. DOH! Who wants to give money for something they haven't seen yet?

You sent a message to us, and we heard it loud and clear. You want to make sure Christians are equipped to vote all of their values!Last month, Sojourners/Call to Renewal released "Voting God’s Politics," an issues guide navigating major issues in the upcoming November election. The response was bold and immediate. Within 24 hours, we distributed 50,000 of these free guides. After one week, we had distributed 150,000 more. And the requests kept coming.

People have asked for more than a quarter of a million issues guides so far! With your support, we will help people nationwide to vote all their values this November.

Click here to help us print more issues guides.

This is an incredibly exciting response. Christians are hungry for a broad moral agenda in American politics, and this guide points the way. We want to get the issues guides to those asking for them, and have more available to distribute as the election approaches.

If you are interested in educating people on how to vote their values ... if you are concerned about your voice being heard in the upcoming elections ... we need your help.

In the last week almost 150 of you have stepped up and made a gift to support this important project. To help us reach our goal, we need 150 more people to contribute $100 each. Will you stand with us?

$100 will print 200 issues guides and move us toward our goal. Click here to give today!

Thank you for your prayers, support, and commitment to voting your values.

-The Sojourners/Call to Renewal Organizing Team

P.S. After you donate, there will be a link to the PDF file of the issues guide. You can see firsthand the information you are helping to distribute to people throughout the country!
