Strychnine found in Danish reservoir

GREVE, Denmark, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Inspectors discovered strychnine in the water supply of a Danish town during a routine check.

Investigators believe that someone dumped rat poison in one of the wells that provides water for Greve Municipality outside Copenhagen, the Copenhagen Post reported. The well's Plexiglass cover was smashed open.

A vial labeled rat poison found in the bottom of the well has been traced to the pharmacy where it originated, investigators told the Post.

"The episode worries me, because you think, what'll it be next," Erik Jurlander, a manager at Greve Waterworks told the newspaper Politiken. "We have coded locks for the waterworks, a sea of alarms and 24-hour security guards who are immediately notified if one of the alarms sounds."

While the waterworks says that the strychnine was not at a dangerous level, the reservoir has been closed. Copenhagen is temporarily supplying Greve with water.

This may or may not be related to "islamo-facist terrorism", but when anyone puts poison in a reservoir, it's an act of terror with intention of mass murder.

Good thing they found it.

Hmm. I hope they are checking the employees first. It says there are alarms up the wazoo, but this was only discovered on a routine check.

Either someone knew where a softspot was or the person got lucky.

Worrisome ... but maybe it's a move to prevent a suspected intrusion ploy.

My house is on a well, not city water. A couple of summers ago, I got an unsolicited phone call from an accented individual asking my permission to put a gadget on my well to "clean" the water.

Duh. No!

Water is the essence of life. Stock up.

A very pathetic act of terrorism, to be sure. It would have been so diluted as to be meaningless. And besides, you can, and certain religious sects do, drink strychnine........

I'll bet a 1,000 donut holes this is revenge for the cartoons. Muslims have threatened poisoning the water supply before.

Sooner or later this demented death cult is going to do something the triggers a huge response from ordinary citizens and they aren't going to like it. But it will happen. These people are totally focused on world domination through violence and mass death. My only question to europeans is: What will it take for you to recognize that you are suffering Death by a Thousand Cuts?

When I was a kid, we used strychnine to poison the skunks that were raiding our hen house. He told us the stuff was used by some as an aphrodisiac, but that the dose for that use was also very close to the deadly dose, based on body weight, and to be REALLY careful in handling it...

We injected it into specially marked eggs. Had to wash down all the hens, and the hen house, as the poor skunk apparently spasmed pretty bad, spraying everything in the area when the stuff go to him.

It is also a cheap "hallucinogen"........drinking it in just the right quantity will cause vision and brain dysfunction, thus the religious aspect..........
