A man who remembers everything and learns nothing (VDH with more on Kerry)

A man who remembers everything and learns nothing. [Victor Davis Hanson] One of the things I love about America is the spontaneous brilliance and humor that undermine all pretension. No better example was that wonderful banner from our brave and ingenious soldiers in Iraq, blaring:

"HALP US JON CARRY-WE R STUCK [backwards k] HEAR N IRAK."

20 million Americans must have seen it all over the Internet, and nothing sums up the nothingness of Kerryism better than those smiling soldiers. After seeing that, no wonder he's offering deer-in-the headlights apologies. This is a man who remembers everything and learns nothing.

Then there was the finger-in-the wind initial Democratic response: their supposedly slight ill breeze suddenly became a Katrina hurricane, and, Presto!, they were all over the airwaves demanding from poor Kerry the apologies that just a few hours ago they thought were not necessary.

As for Kerry — how quick the 24-hour metamorphosis from smugness to defiance to purported contriteness! At his earlier blame-the-wing-nuts-and-Rush-Limbaugh press conference, he thought he was a strutting, strong-jawed Napoleonic general leading his troops to rout the evil Bush-Cheney Prussians, and then, alone, suddenly turned around — and Mein Gott in Himmel!! — his Old Guard was heading for the hills.

I'd feel better if 150 million Americans see it.

It's working its way around. I personally forwarded it to lots of friends. And they'll forward it. Soon I'll get it back in my e-mail!

That's already happened to me. I forwarded it to a brother a few hours ago, and he just sent a smaller version back to me.

Apparently he doesn't read the email I send him. ;-)

Fox showed it a couple of times this afternoon (well, early evening on the east coast), too, so we may be up to all 300,000,000 pretty soon. And each time, Fox left it on the screen long enough to read the words and see the troops' grins. They put it up both before and after the DOD spokesman came on and said the high school diploma rate in the military is higher than that of the general population, and over 97% of the officers have college and/or advanced degrees, which, again is MUCH higher than the general rate.

Once those soldiers weighed in Kerry's "counterattack" against Snow, Limbaugh and us "right wing nut jobs" was doomed. It's the power of an image. Remember how quickly the attack on Judge Alito ended when his wife was seen leaving in tears? We have got to learn how to play this game better.

Ray Charles could have seen that, then he would have sung a patriotic song.

I'd settle for 6 million, in Massachusetts, in 2008.

Imus this morning tried to tell Kerry to apology properly and he wouldn't do it

It wasn't till that picture was posted all over the Internet that Kerry decided to make that apology

Mo1...you should have put apology in "" parenthesis...LOL

His apology was a non-apology.."it is YOUR fault if you are upset" type of apology.

blech...I just hope he now has gotten the message that he is NOT a good POTUS candidate...and go back to pretending to be a Senator until 2008...and then retire...to his rich wife...
